Add 2 years and probably 30 pounds to your numbers, and this post would describe me to a tee. But this year I'm going to see if "good intentions" actually become a reality. My weight is actually pretty stable, so gradual incremental changes should have an impact.

I guess all the influencers were hungover this morning. Had the gym basically all to myself.

My streak is officially over. It ended at 8 days and 800 calories burned on the 8th day. I knew it had to end eventually. 500 yesterday and 400 today.

I started off 2023 at 207.2 after eating bad over the holidays. I guess I offically lost 99 lbs in 2022. I had gotten as low as 200 at 1 point.

Legs yesterday. Empty gym. It was beautiful.

With that being said, I need to get squat my back up. It’s looking mighty amateurish these days.

Possibly, but I really want to get under 200 just to say I did first.

Hit up a steam sauna, step on the scale, and cross off that benchmark.

Then get to work building a healthier body. Plus muscle as a higher metabolic rate, so it will make it easier to keep the fat off.

I wish i had a sauna or one near by. That's why i wear a hoodie/sweatpants while working out. Boxers and wrestlers do it for a reason right? At least that was my logic.

I can tell you it works for a fact but i think i pushed it a little too hard. During my 8 day hard sessions (for me personally) i lost 6 lbs in 8 days. That is not advisable. It is too fast for someone my weight but i broke the 181 barrier i couldn't get through for over a month. A week prior to that i had fallen off my diet a little and got back up to 184. Now im currently at 178. So that's why i decided to take it easier the last few days.

And please if you try this make sure to drink plenty of water because that's probably half of what i lost of those 6 lbs.

Now keeping it off and staying under 180 towards my ultimate goal of 170 is my next challenge.

How tall are you?

I haven't been 175 since 2005 and my Junior year of college. I got down to 183 right before the COVID lockdowns ruined everything and I've been working to get back down to the 180s since then.

I’m eating less and exercising more. I’ll probably lose weight.

No sauna around here. But, I have been doing some stuff today between eBay listings. Pushups while waiting on pictures to upload.

Burned 605 so far today on the bike. Might try and do 200 more a little later on the "Beast-flex" torture device.

Made a deal with myself, if i do 800+ calories today maybe i will have some buffalo chicken nuggies tonight. Gotta treat/reward yourself once in a while.

I stumbled across this thread and I love the support you guys show each other. I think I would like to throw my hat in the ring. I am 40 years old, around 293 lbs, lift and do cardio most days.
I am currently in the U.S. Navy and on deployment overseas onboard USS George H.W. Bush. I'm as strong as on ox, but recently got put on blood pressure medication. I will become a Grampa at the end of the month and would like to live as long as possible. I also retired with 22 years of service right after the National. So 2023 needs to bring less lifting and more cardio.
Since I will be on deployment for at least the next 90 days away from my wife's cooking I really need to get after it. I look forward to being apart of this with you guys.

Well hot damn, you’ve packed a lot of living into those 40 years from what it sounds like!

Welcome aboard.

Chest/Back started at 5:00am for me. Gotta get things wrapped up before taking the kid to school and getting to the office.

Had a great week of training! Combination of going to the gym and working out at home gym.

In January, I usually clean up the diet a bit (ie less booze, no more holiday snacking, potlucks, and parties).

Nice!

I'm down about 5lbs since New Years—but that's a bit misleading since my last meal of 2022 was a huge plate of rice and orange chicken from the local noodle shop and some beer. Not the healthiest way to end the year, but it makes the start of my clean January look a lot more impressive.

log more miles...Last marathon was Boston in 2014. From a high of 2400 miles a year, in 2022, I ran about 200. Would like to get back in shape for a full, but it's frustrating that my marathon pace in 2014 would probably be my 5K pace now. I am sure age has nothing to do with it!
