They sent my books but canceled my charge. So they sent me an email to please call them and work it out. I just haven't had time. Tried to do it over chat.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're now selling all the cancelled orders that they cancelled even though they had the books ... given that they sent my books without charging me. They also weirdly rejected my $5 verizon gift card for that order ... *sigh* c'mon B&N.

Just got shipping on this to arrive Friday. Will upload pics when it comes. Looks like it's still available which seems like a bad sign but did see this:

Yeah that's what they're saying in the RACC group. That photo there is 100% autopen, no two ways about it. If mine looks like that, I'm calling S&S and, well, I've never done a paypal or credit card charge back but if it comes to that ... I have put so much money through this credit card with this hobby I hope they back me up.

Final Sale and Non-Returnable provisions do not apply if the item in fact is fraudulent.

What a disaster. I don't know whether to just refuse delivery or accept it and deal with this after. Will I definitely get a refund if I refuse delivery or will I still have to fight for it?

Good question. I'm not sure how Paypal deals with "item not received" cases when the buyer is the one refusing it.

S&S said these were "guaranteed to be personally hand-signed by Bob Dylan!". In theory it should be fairly simple to get a charge back if they are deemed to be autopen. People should know a lot more later today as more copies get delivered and calls/emails start flooding into S&S. Maybe don't answer the door when the delivery shows up today and see how it plays out? Then make the decision on the 2nd delivery attempt?

I've decided to just accept it when it arrives and go from there. Refusing might lead to more problems than simply accepting as far as getting my money back. At the very least it'll make the whole process be longer. I've been reading that sometimes it takes a while for them to actually 'return to sender' and there may not be tracking going back.

Is it possible that these can ALL be autopen when every one shown so far looks different?

to me those autographs look to good, either another person is signing them or maybe autopens or I don't know, or who knows maybe he is really sitting there and taking his time to sign each one really good, I guess you will never know unless there is video evidence, this is the only confirmed auto of a Dylan auto in the last 10 years that I have seen (from Pawn Stars) and it doesn't seem to resemble cuz those look to good but who knows

People are now reporting seeing exact duplicate sigs over on the live.autographmagazine forums. So it appears they are autopen with numerous variations.

Yeah they look to be autopen - just with 10 or so variations, which is even more shady and egregious than just one. They're knowingly trying to dupe people.

And I agree with what was said by a user over there, S&S should send every buyer of these their money back without the hassle of having to return them. That's all I'm thinking now, "What do I have to do now to get my money back?". They shouldn't make buyers have to be hassled & aggravated any more than they already have been. Just give the money back ASAP.

it is mind boggling they thought they could get away with it, are they new to the internet? don't they understand these things are going to be scrutinized? and the best I am reading is the "no returns" from these signed editions, good luck with the class action lawsuit and negative PR if you stick by this

he probably signed 9 and they just cranked out 100 of each. There was a zero percent chance these were going to be real. I know the price made it look so, but really this guy has to be the toughest autograph to obtain, no way he was going to sign 900 autographs after signing probably 10 in the past 50 years.

This is false. There are far more than 10 available on this site.

I'm pretty sure they are all autopen. One or two, I would like to see better photos but yeah if you look at the ends and starts of the strokes, they all have uniform dots.

Go get a felt tip pen. Sign your name quickly. Maybe one or two starts have a blot. Now do it mechanically and try to apply even pressure. You will see that your natural signature does not have uniform thickness nor does it have the start and stop resting blots that all of these appear to have.

Just got mine, it's autopen: https://imgur.com/a/HqMFNHY

The high res scanner does wash out the strokes but just makes the autopen blots all that more visible:

I am talking about in person, not for sale online. I am an in person grapher, have been for over 15 years. Dylan is by far the toughest. Only 2 graphers that I know personally who have got him. My friends (the top autograph dealers in the world) and I have conversations about signing habits often... If you think he has signed more in person then you are wrong.

But these books are for sale online. You said "no way he was going to sign 900 autographs after signing probably 10 in the past 50 years."

He sells his art with real pencil signatures. So because he doesn't do street autographs, he's not going to sell high priced books signed online? Of course he could, he already sells $3k lithographs with his autograph.

I know it's impossible to get his autograph, it's why I thought $644 was a good deal on a book that was direct from the publisher. He obviously sets aside time to sign his lithographs en masse.

fair enough but a celebrities signing habits count for a lot here. You cant expect dylan to sign 900 autograph books, its just crazy to expect that. anyway, its clear that these are autopen. thats too bad and I hope you all can get your money back. I would just go straight to your credit card and file a claim. I suspect that the publisher will give you trouble after having a clause in their listing, even though its clearly fake.

Well, you've been at this for 15 years so you probably know the answer to this but do you see a difference between "Hey man, love your music, can I get a free autograph?" and "I pay this website $644 for a signed book."

Well if that's just crazy and super duper obvious to you, I would have appreciated that information up front. I guess we're different in that if you said you were going to buy a new book signed by David Bowie, I'd have the decency to tell you they're not going to be real autographs. Of course, I can't find you warning me when I posted this that these are not happening or it's crazy to expect that.

By the way, when I saw these were still for sale an hour later, I knew I was in trouble. When I bought it, nowhere on the site did it say "Bob Dylan signs 900 books!" I thought this would be handful just like the UK sale.

But hey, it was obvious to everyone but me, the sucker with $644 to burn.
