Default Justin Fields - 2,000 yards?...

With Fields averaging 111 yards rushing per game, over the past 5 games. That would put him on pace for 1,887 yards in a 17 game season.

Could Fields be the first QB to crack 2K? Vick was the first to break 1K. Lamar did so twice. It seems this would be the next progression for running QB's.

Sure, he might only pass for 2,000 yards in a season. But 2,000 rushing as well would make up for it.

Well, he has already played more than 5 games this year, so you're pace is already junk.

I thought this would be a question of if he could pass 2,000 yards passing.

Anyways... #Invest in Fields. I'm sure it'll work out.

Is the entire hobby #invest now? Or can we collect players on our favorite teams.

Not a snowballs chance in H E double hockey sticks. An elite rushing QB will average 6-7 YPA on the ground (Vick career 7.0, Lamar currently 6.1). What Fields has done the last two games in particular is wholly unsustainable (11+ a pop). His career YPA sits just north of 6 if you take out the last two games. While Fields is fun to watch, he isn't getting 300+ carries in a season. He'd either get A) killed, or B) have a LB spy on each side of the field to force throws.

I'm just happy there are three Chicago Bears adjacent threads on the first page.

I don't think Fields reaches 2k this year or any year, but I do think he has the capacity, potential, and coaching philosophy to break the single season record. The single season record at the moment is 1,206. I don't think we'll see an 800 yard increase soon. I do think he could top 1400-1500 yards.

I didnt say this year, did I? I said in a 17 game season, now that he is averaging 111 yards per game, the past 5 games. But thanks for playing!

I already made the passing yards joke in my original post. But thanks for stopping by!

Then why not go a step further and just use his last ONE game of 147yds and say he's on pace for 2499 in a 17 game season?

thanks for playing...

No. Just no.

Unfortunately 5-game spans usually aren't indicative of a full season.

Especially considering the defenses he played. #32, #25, #4 (60 yards), #5 (82 yards), #20.

Upcoming games against #30 Falcons, #21 Packers and another game against the Lions will help pad those numbers, but the Jets, Bills, Eagles and Vikings (all top 12) will be the real tests.

He's putting up insane numbers that will never be replicated over a 17 game season, and even at that rate, it still doesn't get him to 2000 anyway.

He very well could break the record for a QB, but no QB is getting to 2000 yards.

But if you include all games in 2022, he is still at 7.2 yards per carry. So it isn't just 2 games in the season.

And also, this thread is a parody of all the other "2000 yards?" threads.

One game, and people will say its was a fluke. 5 straight games, and more will say that is a pattern.

Sadly I caught onto that after posting . I feel like posting the 'joke orbiting me' meme.

He put up 60 yards and a rushing TD against the #4 ranked D in the entire league (in your example). Then he faced the #5 ranked D and put up 82 and yet another rushing TD.

Week one he had 28 yards rushing. Week 10 he had 147. Using that math, he is gaining an extra 12 yards per game, every game, each week. By the end of 2022, he should be rushing for 220 yards every game. And look out 2023!

He very well could break the record for a QB, but no QB is getting to 2000 yards.
But he seems to be getting better each game, and his numbers keep climbing. If the progression persists, then maybe 2,000 yards can happen. You just have to believe its possible.

In week one, he had 28 yards rushing. In week 10, he had 147. Using that math, he is gaining 12 more yards rushing every week. And will be on pace for a 220 yard game, by week 18.

Highly doubt it.

In the first 6 or 7 games this year, the Bears relied on their Running Backs quite a bit more and Fields' rushing yards were not what they have been.

Next year he has a shot I suppose

If we could draw analogies between particular teams' fans and bands, Grid is the Bears' Nickelback.

If Justin Fields dropped a rap album, who would listen to it?

He wouldn't be the first Chicago Bear to drop a solo record.
