during game 2 last night, John Smoltz said something like "If you can't see the similarities between Yordan and a young Big Papi...". i found it interesting that he made the same comparison that many on this thread have made for several years now.

Nothing like y'all's but these are the highlights of my small yordan collection. Pulled the 299 blue set, prism refractor, and ginter mini. Have 50+ other bass cards sitting as well.

Good stuff. I've been picking up copies of the Sapphire...feel like current prices are good value based pop counts.

I mean aside from the part where Alvarez at age 25 is far better and plays passable defense. Of course, Yordan has to stay healthy for the next decade plus to get the counting numbers, but yah, Yordan is far better at this point.

Hard not pair up these two purples /75 when they’re so cheap.

Both are strong images, but I lean toward tighter shot in the home uniform.

Why is the 35 year anniversary logo messed up on the one card? Or is that just the picture?

It’s just the picture, light reflecting in an unflattering way.

It’s interesting that the purple, blacks and blues all sell for around the same price (blues /150 and blacks /199 makes more sense.) But it makes it easy to pick up some nice cards. I might eventually go for all of them through the golds.

I’ve got a signed 2019 AL ROY baseball arriving in the mail tomorrow that I bought with money I won from a bet with a Yankees fan. Felt like the right thing to buy

His sig has changed so much and looks so fluid now compared to his rookie year I wanted to make sure I got a rookie sig ball with a good inscription

Yeah, I realized that I had omitted green after I posted.

It’s easy to forget, because green usually doesn’t work too well on baseball cards. And certainly not with Houston’s orange and blue.
