Blowout Cards Black November/Friday Thread

Remember in 2018 when people didn't want cases of 2018 Topps Update because they didn't come with silver packs?

Most commenters complained about the lack of Black Friday deals in 2018, when you could also buy Chrome Update Mega Boxes for $35, or Prizm basketball hobby boxes for $200.

In 2017, I bought a case of 2013 Heritage Minors at $60/box.

Remember, folks. It's not about flipping this stuff tomorrow. Play the long game.

Not trying to argue or discredit what you are saying, but that isn't a comparable purchase.

2018 Black Friday buying 2018 products is new inventory. You can always move current year inventory better than 7-8 year old inventory. Additionally, you are purchasing a product with an exploding hot rookie class and grading ramping up. They couldn't be any more different than this.

And yet, most people were passing on Topps Update because they didn't come with silver packs. People complain about Blowout sales every single year.

Market boom happens once in awhile. We won't see another covid boom for awhile. Those that bought before covid boom profited greatly. I sold about 25 tatis topps psa 10 at $250 each. Currently singles are trending down. Boxes will follow. I see black November sales as blowout testing the waters. Question: remove the "idea" that this is a black November sale. Would you still buy at those prices? Chances are not. I was skimming through and noticed 2013 prime/strata/certified football for $100. Those sat on the selves at my lcs for $45 and was a terrible product and terrible rookie class.

Not to mention 2014 topps chrome football for $200. Lol. Those were $35-$40 boxes back in the day and couldn't sell.

Agree, but I was buying from Blowout Black November and flipping a few months later for nice profit before the boom.

And....I wish I wouldn't have flipped that $500 Topps Update case for a measly $1700 in March 2019. Or those 2013 Heritage Minors boxes for $110 a pop in 2018.

I don't buy much from the big 3 (sorry), but if they're not offering discounts doesn't that indicate they don't think the sealed market is heading down?

Blowout would be considered the biggest bag holder. Granted they can afford it and have enough resources to do it for years so giving discounts don't really matter to them. They can sit on product and wait for the next boom.

I usually look at checklists in case I have to hold and that checklist doesn't do it for me.

Be careful if you want/need to move when they arrive. You are using ebay comps for an item that does not sell often. Its an older product, so demand will be low. And now, there are already multiple people here loading up. The market is going to saturate for a demand that is already really low. You are going to have a hard time moving if that is your goal. Just a tip. Years ago I used to get caught in that trap too.

There's truth to this statement! With that said, I see no real difficulty netting at least $21.875 per mega box (at $350/case, it's fairly low-risk too). You don't have to sell on eBay, you can sell on FB/IG/discord/locally. Personally, I like the product because it has a Julio Urias RC and I think he's a stud.

It’s indicative of the fact that the big 3 control the market. Which is why it’s on the consumer to be united in forcing their hands to lower prices.

You are far too excited for an absolutely terrible product. If Blowout thinks it's good they will reload it immediately at a higher price. There is a very good reason it was reloaded cheap yet again.

That's kinda a crummy post. This isnt Yo Gabba Gabba he's excited about. Theres still some decent cards in this product and worth taking a shot on at $21 a box.
