I love it when the update set updates a player’s team to one he’s no longer playing for.

I am sure there are others, but I noticed that Daniel Vogelbach and Tyler Naquin, both Mets, received update cards of them with the Pirates and Reds, respectively.

Not quite the same thing, since he didn't change teams to join the team he's pictured with, but Cleveland's checklist includes Yu Chang, who is three teams out of date (Cleveland > Pittsburgh > Tampa Bay > Boston). In a world where Update is anything other than useless at its actual purpose, he should be a Tampa Bay Ray in this set.

Wow. That's impressive.

I can only imagine the top level discussion going on in the Topps camp as they discussed the checklist for the update set.

I assume it happened on May 29th - couldn't be any later because Chang was released by Cleveland on the 30th - with Topps saying they had to make sure to have a slot for a guy who was 0-10 (with 7 K's) on the year, and no, they wouldn't consider waiting a few days before finalizing the checklist, and no, they wouldn't consider giving Chang's spot in the set in favor of that young catching prospect the Orioles called up a week earlier.

I guess Gavin Lux really is the Nowest of the Now since he has another Generation Now card in Update (he had one in Series One already)

First, I love the checklist!! It's what 2022 TC could've been!!

Second, I'm very excited for what 2022 TC Update and 2022 TC Update Sapphire might potentially be!!

Regarding 2022 Topps Update, I just preordered 4 hobby boxes for $384.75 (and, included in that $384.75 order, I'll also get a 2020-21 Panini Flux Basketball Fanatics set and a 2020-21 Illusions Basketball Value Pack).

Although I missed the original preorder period, I feel that I got these boxes (and the "free" set + value pack) for a pretty good price.

It's one of the big 3.

They emailed me a code for $100 off of $500+ (which worked towards the preorder).

As many times as they've moved the date on this one around, I'm optimistic that Friday will finally stick.
