I'll be there 3 o'clock Friday. Hopefully I can buy some bulk to sell on my sportlots page.

Dan got moved outside near the Beckett booth. Walk in and he’s right to your left!

Thought it was a pretty good crowd on Friday. Not sure if it was better than previous Chantilly shows but it was more than busy. Obviously Saturday and Sunday are the true days that determine how these shows are going and it is different than others because they have tons of high quality autograph guests. But if Chantilly is a guide of whether "sports card shows are dying" then we are good.

Went from 9:30 -11 this morning. Low energy, dismissive dealers, a ton a seated set collectors blocking tables. Majority of dealers are vintage baseball who are just showing their collections. Only one “influencer” with camera equipment but dealers weren’t biting on his engagement. A ,out of auction tables not selling. Minimal wrestling and UFC. I’ve gone to this show probably 5x in the last few years. All the same cards I keep seeing. The dealers seem to have their Dulles Expo box and then put it away and bring it out every 3 months. Witnessed a 3 min negotiation on a $10 card the kid wanted for $4, no deal made. Didn’t want to leave empty handed bc I spent $10 to get in. I could not for the life of me find anything. Left empty handed, got chick-fil-a. Will pass on the next show. This Christmas season could be it sadly…

I’m doing very well with my .50 cent cards which I have discounted today. I’ve went thru a lot of inventory. I’ve heard I’m one of the few dealers with good value boxes. I did better yesterday than I am doing today.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed, but if you can't find anything you like at a show like Chantilly, that's more of a reflection of how selective you are. Or maybe you're just hard to please in general. Probably a mix of both.

I wasn't in a spot to be a big spender this weekend, but I bought a few dozen cards from value boxes, traded a few hundred dollars worth of cards, and bought a couple cards in the $40-$100 range.

I went to the Blowout trade night again (third time going) and had a great time there again as well.

It really helps to build relationships and get to know a lot of the dealers and show-goers. If you're anti-social, extremely shy/introverted, or hard to get along with, then you'll have a less enjoyable experience, find less cards that you like, and find less cards that you'll have the opportunity to buy or trade for. So shows in general are probably not for you if you fall into one of those categories.

Traffic seemed solid on both Friday and Saturday. I always enjoy going to the Chantilly show, and this weekend was no different.

Hope everyone who set up did well. Know several dealers who were having a great time. Also heard some panic from others who have no niche and are not distinguishable from the other several hundred booths.

Those with bulk $0.50/$1 boxes, kudos to you.

Also kudos to those who were actually buying from people. I sold several things and traded into a grail item for my collection because of you.

The hobby moves on. Might be a scary few months for those holding modern shiny cards of guys who are likely going to flame out.

Can’t wait to see y’all March 31st!

I don’t fall into any category you listed. The best part of the show was the one dealer selling deodorant! Hopefully you hit him up!

I thought the show was very busy and brought in a lot of people. I did well with my .50 cent boxes as I was one of the only people in the show to be set up with that stuff in bulk. Vintage stuff seemed to be hot and showcase type stuff seemed to be stale.....from what I seen.

Guy gives a (somewhat) negative review of a card show and you go bodega psychoanalysis on him.

Yikes. These Chantilly partisans mean business.

This was my first time going to Chantilly and I thought it was a great show. I was set up and brought some mid-high end to sell, along with some wax and was satisfied with sales. It was good to spend some times with some blowout friends that I usually only get to see at the national (theshowandme) or that I haven't seen in 10 years (marinocollector).

My real reason for going was to buy though. I make a repackage product and have a hard time getting inventory fast enough, so my plan for this show was to buy as much inventory as I could get at reasonable prices. I will post some pictures of some of the things I was able to pick up.

Here is the overall haul:

Looking for Andre Dawson Serial numbered cards that are his jersey number - either #8 or #10. So looking for cards like 8/8 or 08/99 or 10/250.

I did pretty solid on the $1 bins this time around. Also submitted to COMC which was super easy! Will plan to do this each show going forward.
