That’s just for 2022. It’s definitely an odd report.

I was merely linking it just for the history.

Doubt it. Think you have to clear the physical window first.

Makes sense. I figured there was something. They want him for the chiefs this week I’d imagine but just couldn’t get it done in time.

Saw this from Rappaport

“New #49ers RB Christian McCaffrey, who has already spoken to coach Kyle Shanahan and team brass, travels tomorrow to his new home. If he plays Sunday, which he likely will do, expect a red zone package. Then he'll ramp up from there.“

CMac Deebo and Aiyuk is a pretty dynamic combo. Too bad they still have Jimmy G at QB

I don’t really get it. Do the Niners think they’re a RB away from being SB contenders? Seems like they would’ve been better served acquiring OLine help or a deep threat WR (like Emmanuel Sanders in 2019).

I agree. I think Jeff Wilson is good in the 49ers system as a runner. And CMC other skills are redundant with Deebo and Aiyuk. They need an upgrade at QB for me to take them seriously as SB team. They could win with Jimmy if he plays perfectly in the playoffs but I’ve seen enough that I can’t see that happening

Can't wait to see him carted off the field in a Niners uniform giving the thumbs up

I'm happy with it! I'm excited to see McCaffrey in an offense when he isn't the only top weapon. Him and Deebo should be fun

Panthers got what they could. He is injury prone and his contract for a RB is way too high. You can get RBs on the cheap.

Which is interesting, because that's how the Niners have treated the position. So he'll probably play a lot of receiver.

From a Falcon’s fan - this has to be so deflating for Panthers fans. Welcome to the rebuild and years of suck until you get there.

I live in Charlotte and finally the Panthers are doing smart things. Trading for Baker helped secure that terrible record. Anybody with a brain knew he would be terrible.

Continue the tank and get CJ Stroud. Start this over like they did when they took Cam. It's that simple.

They have what it appears to be a franchise LT, DJ Moore can be a WR1 with even competent QB play. Do not trade any of the front 7.

Good luck CMC. West coast boi goes home. If the 9ers don't run him into the ground (they shouldn't because there are players other than CMC to force feed the ball to) they will be in the NFC Champ game against the Eagles.

If they choose to use him as a RB, is he really an outside zone, single cut RB? If they choose to use him as a Wide Back, there’s only so many sweeps, screens, and slants to go around.
Where’s the deep threat?

Good move for Carolina to trade him while he still has value. Even better if they are completely clear of the contract. As mentioned, be bad this year and go for a franchise QB. With the additional second, third picks, they should be able to fill in some help along the lines. Build some depth. Might even get a good WR2 with a second round pick.

For the 49ers. RB has been a turnstile it seems. Seems like they are going all in with Cmac and hoping he will be a steady force in the backfield. This wouldn't have happened if Lance was still the QB, imo. I don't think Lance would have projected the team as a playoff team this year, Jimmy G does that. Jimmy isn't in the elite category, but I still feel like he is plenty good enough to get them to the Super Bowl. With the Rams faltering (I think Stafford is injured), the division is wide open.

The physical is done by team doctors. They can literally check him out once he walks off the plane in Cali.

Robbie Anderson was traded by Carolina on Monday, and was playing football on Thursday in Arizona.

I like the trade, and they got enough value for him from the 49ers. He is set to make $690K this year on a team friendly deal. The next 3 years its $12MIL each. And he has an injury guarantee worked in as well.

You don't pay your running back $40MIL over the next 3 years, on a team that is clearly in rebuild mode.

That's true. I assumed he would be limited regardless with it being a quick turnaround.

Panthers take dead cap hit of about $26.45 million. $8.1 million this year and $18.35 next year.

49ers could walk away if he got hurt and did not want to keep him after this year with just taking a $1 million cap hit for 2023.

I believe players are available immediately, but would come down to knowing the playbook, etc. If he were to suit up, I wouldn't envision many touches.

CMC signed his big deal after 2019 season made about $38.5 million with the Panthers who got 16 games out of him in 2 1/3 seasons with 1,060 yards rushing 768 yards rec and 8 rushing TDs and 3 Rec TDs.

Stop posting facts. Get with the narrative that zonacats8 set. "the injury narrative for him is just dumb" "they played it safe with him, and both years shut him down after a minor ding"
