Say what you want about Boone and the bullpen, but you can't waste RISP against Verlander. That's 2nd and 3rd w/ no outs was the biggest stretch of the game.

Dude, I'm 61 years old. I think I know the difference between mind boggling and the mind bottling pun that's been thrown around here in the past.
As far as saving face, it's too late for you.
Go ahead and pick through every single post I've made on this forum, try to find ONE time I've defended the Astros cheating. You won't find one. Nodda, nothing, zilch. In fact, what you will find is posts from me describing my disappointment in my Astros for cheating. I've even gone as far as saying that in all my years of following my favorite team it sucks they finally won a World Series and it's tainted.
What I have done, and will continue to do, is make fun of you idiots who bring up the stupid buzzer rumor that was found by MLB to be false.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/...stigation.html

Read it and weep. I wasn't surprised that you would open up your pie hole though as you make a habit of making yourself look stupid.
That and you always seem to stalk me for some bizarre reason.
This is just one more notch on your stupid post belt. Wear it with shame.

At least they didn’t blow an 8 run lead to get eliminated only game one lots of series left.

On another note, nice game Yankees fans. My stomach was churning until the very last out.
There is no ther sport as exciting as MLB Playoffs!

So going all in for HR and “launch angle” approach cost the Yankees here. 17 Ks to 2 for Hou is the biggest in history of the playoffs. JV Ks 11, sets all-time postseason K record and breaks his own consecutive K record for playoffs. All of these teams spent big bucks investing in this “new” idea that Hrs will always win games even at the cost of striking out. No so much it seems.

HR's are great, but you can't just hit HR's. They did a good job vs. CLE of mixing in walks/hits, and then hitting their HR's.

2 solo tonight, but multiple whiffs with RISP. It's what their big problem was during the season when they struggled.

Very telling they still don’t have enough contact hitters, 2 runs both on solo homers, until they can score by stringing hits together they will continue to lose. Solo homers won’t do it but an umpire with an inconsistent strike zone for both teams didn’t help either.

Judge is really hurting them. How often do you see him chase a 2-0 breaking ball? He's trying way too hard, and it's left him antsy. Same thing as during the HR chase.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the Astros left more men on base tonight than the Yankees.

At least during the chase until the last batch of games he was still getting on base this postseason he just doesn’t look like the same hitter.

You can see it in his hands. They kinda drift towards the plate because he's so anxious to hit.

Combined with Yordan, they're 0 for their last 30. And they're 4-0. That's how good the Astros are.

*Actually it looks like Altuve's 0 for his last 19, not 21.

Yep Yankees hardly had anything going for most of the game, 2 on in the first Donaldson ended that threat 2 on in the 3rd and Donaldson and carpenter ended that threat I think there might have been one other time but that’s about it.

That's why I'm rooting for the Padres to beat the Phillies. I hate the Phillies and I hate the Astros.

That was the only bright spot for the Yankees last night was that they pitched well against both of them and those two didn't beat the Yankees.

I'm not going to be one of those fans and blame the umpire; although clearly he gave way more latitude on balls being called strikes to Verlander. This loss was clearly on Boone and Cashman.

Cashman's pickups of Montas and Donaldson stunk when they were needed most. If Donaldson made simple contact, especially towards third base, the score would have been 2-1 Yankees and the whole game probably would have gone a different direction. He is the strikeout in key situation and not run out play king.

Boone continues to mismanage what little bullpen is left after the injuries. Schmidt got lucky in the first inning he pitched. That should have been the end of him. Instead, Boone trots him out again to give up two homeruns. Starting Carpenter when he hasn't faced real game pitching since August 8th and Verlander is tough on lefties was setting the offense up for failure.

FWIW Ayanna walked Alvarez twice… once “unintentional” 4 straight up away) and once intentional. Yanks didn’t exactly go after him.
