Little tongue in cheek comment. But I dont think Ill get away with some of the deals I have anymore.

His values not jumping up this season was more just a factor of the decline in the market overall. He did a great job to keep things steady.

Not surprising at all. Like the majority of foreign players, he can speak English in a high enough capacity to interact with his team, but chooses to do interviews through an interpreter because he wants to fully understand the questions and correctly express himself in his answers.

He's been in the Astros system since 2016. It's very surprising that after 6 years in the US he isn't fluent. Using an interpreter is not the norm. Jeremy Pena grew up in the Dominican Republic too and didn't use an interpreter in his postgame interview

So now we're going from he has bad knees, to he's a DH, to he doesn't speak English.

I'm good with that he's one helluva hitter and the Mariners should consider walking him in important situations.

Even for players who do speak English, why the hell would you if Spanish is your most comfortable language?

I mean Yordan started taking lessons at 17 and English is a really difficult language. He speaks some English but yah, use an interpreter. I'd rather hear his thoughts translated from a language he is fully comfortable speaking.
