Default Draymond Green vs. Jordan Poole: Which one stays, which one goes? Or do both stay?

Most of us have already heard about the fighting incident that occurred during Warriors practice.

Will this impact who stays with the Warriors and who doesn't? Or will both get resigned?

Share your thoughts!

There hasn't been a controversy like this since last month when Aaron Donald smacked some Bengals players in a helmet!!

And we all know how that shut down the NFL.

Warriors just found a way out of extending Green's contract without the backlash.

Still light years ahead...

Your post is unclear. Do you mean this year or next year? You mention resigning so I'm thinking you mean next year.

They both will stay this year but the Warriors won't resign Draymond unless he greatly relents on his salary expectations. Even then they might not resign him. With those two and Wiggins available they can't have them all.

The only person that leaves is the one who leaked the video.

My vote would be both are gone. Poole is going to be looking for a huge contract and I am not sure the Warriors would want to take that on with their current payroll structure. I would look to trade him. As for Draymond, I would not be the least bit surprised that he retires after this year. He does have a player option for one more year, so it could be real easy money to stay on for one more year. I think he is a lot more interested in getting his post game career going.

There's also the factor of age/health....he only played 46 regular season games last year and was a turnover machine in the playoffs.

They'll both be there through the season because GS has shown they don't have the guts to keep Draymond in check and there's no way they can get equal value for Poole right now on his rookie deal. He was invaluable to them last season and will only improve.

I say they both stay. I'd say if it was any other team one of them gets traded.

Poole was probably leaving regardless based on that Herro contract. I don't think people realize Poole/Green don't hate each other, though.

Do you think they're cool with each other today?

I've played a lot of ball in my life with a lot of rough individuals and I've watched - and been in the middle of - a lot of heated moments and pushing/shoving/etc. Guys that don't play and watch playground games probably don't have a feel for how things can change from one moment to the next: "YOU'RE A BITCH AND I'LL FU*K YOU UP!" can honestly completely go to "Good game, bruh" a few mins later or after the game ends. I get that because I've lived it/done it.

But something like this - when the game wasn't even active - and that has become public, etc? Something that could have injured me severely like that when I wasn't defending myself? That's in a different category.

Jordan Poole does not like Draymond Green today, no matter what he or anyone else might say.

Long-term, I think the Warriors commit $$$ to the younger Poole and Wiggins and make Draymond a "take it or leave it" offer at a dollar figure commensurate with his health and play this season.

And Draymond, due to the fact that he has a higher opinion of himself than pretty much everyone else, decides it's too low and either leaves for a deal elsewhere or retires and goes to work fulltime for TNT.

I also think that the improvement among the three lottery picks this year (i.e. Wiseman, Kuminga, and Moody) will make it easier for the Warriors to realize that they can survive without a 33/34 year old injury prove Draymond.

I'd note that the Warriors were 16-10 in the games last year that Draymond missed, but Steph played.

Draymond should really opt in, play it back and let them let Klay walk (or take an insane pay cut, because he's no where near a max $40 million player anymore) and then he can (not get the max) get some money. but none of the young guys are doing anything Draymond does/can do.

I actually think they keep Draymond.

You can find guys like Poole anywhere. Draymond is a tad washed these days but he's almost irreplaceable with how well he runs the offense with Klay and Steph off the ball.

Plus he can defend quality bigs well.

Will there be a round 2?

Give Poole some time to train for it. One day Draymond is passing by him in a hallway and pow! -- right in the kisser.

He already has a post game career going -- he's got a popular podcast and does in-season work for TNT. He's doing it all. He's even dabbling in some amateur boxing.

Yet.

Note that Draymond didn't start to become the player he is today until his 3rd season, by which point he was 24 years old.

Kuminga and Moody are both 20-year-olds starting their second season....Wiseman is 21.

All three are likely to show significant improvement this season.

He definitely showed last year he's not washed at all. Would've been run away DPOY if not for missing games with injury. Just a constant theme (not you) people think Draymond doesn't really make a difference, he's hugely valuable.
