I think there are two kinds of people:

1. Those fun rip clecter bois who gobble up product and get excited for next product that live paycheck to paycheck and have the foresight of a gnat.

2. Those who have positioned themselves to be financially free and able to easily weather a brutal recession who come to the 2022 TC baseball Pre Sale thread to laugh and mock at #1.

Ooh -- spicey. I like it.

The pandemic bubble created a lot more stakeholders that rely on Topps/Fanatics for their business/hustle. Put another way, it's like piglets needing to suckle on their big momma pig's nipples.

We're in a "market correction". It doesn't help things that Topps' brand is taking a big hit due to poor customer service and poor product quality.

This Logofractor edition may just beat the odds and really take off with all the logobois falling over each other in the hunt for the JRod inaugural edition superfractor logofractor. You can just picture the flame emoji ebay title.

herman, you really hate the flipper boys. Always alluding to them having to work at McyDees.

I get it -- you yearn for the days of being able to open new product without having to pay inflated prices. But if the cards themselves are crummy and overproduced, is it actually fun regardless of the price?

I’m really not sure who is more annoying, the “flipper bois” or the people who complain about them.

Let's hope they actually look different enough to justify another set and not just throw a sparkly border on it Star Wars sapphire style.

Different levels of flippers but I'd address most of them as scalpers.

Flipping to me was a term for prospecting bowman 1sts and determining who would be going for a lot more the following season based on abilities, etc.

Buying something until it's OOS and then reselling to gen public for an exuberant markup, that's called scalping. And that's what these guys are doing.

I'm not talking ab neck beards doing the rain dance either.

I'm talking ab intellectually deviant folks letting their computers do all the work, and then coming on to BO and acting all coy about it.

Surprised LITE boxes are still in stock. Have the degens maxed out, or did word not get around enough yet?

Of course it’s fun.

If a product’s supply outstretches it’s demand, prices stay cheap for everyone to enjoy.

The box break boards can be flooded with breaks and investor bois have less incentive to sit on boxes to flip.

How is that not good for the hobby?

Oh yeah, if you are in the hobby primarily to make money and to pull a fast one on the next guy, I can understand how that environment would not be desirable for you.

How about the people who cheer against flipper bois?

Is that annoying to you as well?

I can see it being annoying if all your investmentz are dropping in value - anyone would be salty about that if my primary purpose was to make money.

Other than the faux excitement from breakers that hit some rando vet gold auto with $6.79 I haven't heard anyone cheerleading this.

But there are a LOT of people trying to give Topps a pass for one reason or another.
