Wonder if there will be colored parallels.

The math seem to suggest that at best, a silver pack "may" have 1 of the 5 SPs...but also very possible/more than likely there is zero of the SPs in most of the 2 card silver packs. Guess we will see very soon once the silver packs get out and people start to open them what the ratio of SPs are in the packs.
Most of the packs won't get out. They'll be in the hands of the distributors who will then sell them for a profit.

Unfortunately yes...past listings of big distributors selling boxes of silver packs come to mind just now.

The message wasn’t even clear if distributors are getting them ? It sounded like they were doing it for topps direct stores / breakers and people who bought from topps but that’s it ?

You think these packs are the “best” solution which is your opinion and that’s fair. In my opinion, the “best” thing would be recall and refund.

It isn’t my responsibility to determine or provide the best logistical course for Topps to make this right. They messed it up. They should figure it out.

Is it going to happen? Very doubtful bc…it’s Topps. But maybe we shouldn’t let them off the hook so quickly by lowering the bar for them in terms of doing right by their customers.

I have so many questions that eventually lead to where the individual bought the box and if that person / company is a decent person.
1. So if you bought from a hobby shop you should be able to go to that hobby shop when they get packs and grab one right? But you have to keep tabs of when the shop gets them and if they will actually give you one. (Assuming you only bought 1 hobby box)
2. Bought from a breaker. I guess you have to message them and ask when they will receive the pack and how they will distribute the contents of the pack. That seems like such a messy situation. Assuming they break a lot
3. Flippers. If they bought through a reputable distro and flipped there’s no way they are giving packs to who they flipped to.
4. What does future orders mean? Is that from time of release of the statement or pending shipping orders?
5. Hobby boxes need to be defined and odds need to be defined for retail. Is lite included? If you buy retail was there always 0% chance of hitting them?
Stuff is wack yo

Pretty sure distributors are customers that already received product through topps.com.

They’ve been missing colors or SPing base autos or both for years. No need to comment on that. That’s just Toppsing.

Let's assume a hobby case print run of 10,000, or even hobby plus jumbo equals 20,000, to make the math easy.

One pack of two cards per individual box made. 120,000 hobby boxes plus 80,000 jumbo boxes.

So 200,000 2-pack cards made. Assuming one short print card per 23 packs packs (5 out of 225 total cards: about one per two cases was maybe the original plan?), the total print run of sp cards is about 8700 cards, divided by 5 cards is about 1750 total of each SP card.

Unfortunately, the SP cards distributed in this fashion become much less valuable than if they were pulled from hobby and jumbo boxes.

Certain entities will have stacks of these cards from hoarding packs.

Plus, none of these cards will be taken away from the general float like other traditional pack issued cards that are hidden in sealed cases stored away in warehouses, ie, every single copy of these cards will reach circulation.

This really hurts the desirability, IMO.

This also implies no parallels.

In this format, does this make the Jrod a $50 card?

Witt - $30
Tork - $10
Greene -$5
Abrams - $5

packs - $5-10?

I'm still not a buyer at these prices even with this news. I'll buy the singles in the off-season as planned

Remember when Topps hid the 1/1 glossy Ginter base cards in the damn cardboard box top flap?...
They said they gave a hint they were hidden there when it came out with a tweet or email saying 'Who's ready to tear into some boxes of Ginter' or something like that.

A0 Zero Sympathy for people who pay these prices for modern product

B) This is the best thing that could have happened to Topps/Fanatics. It will be a great culling of shady breakers and distributors. Those who fail to distribute the Silver Packs to respective buyers should have their account closed immediately.

I have no doubt that Topps/Fanatics will be watching closely via social media

Distributions won't care since they're out already. They'll just keep the packs for profit. And the breakers can simply say the distributor never sent them out to them. It becomes a he said she Said.

Distributions to topps: late bend you over one more time before we go out separate ways.

Maybe the 2018 Allen Ginter wood minis will be in the silver packs as well.

I did order a lite box, has yet to ship, so I’ll definitely share the results good or bad and if I get a bonus pack.

I don't think there's any way they are giving 2 'SPs' per box. Those packs have to be a chance at an SP, but not 2 SPs.

Think of it this way, after taking out the regular refractors, inserts and autos from a hobby box, you are are left with around 70-73 base cards, depending on any color you might hit.

In a 220 card set, that puts the odds of hitting any particular base card at around 1 in 3 hobby boxes. If they give 2 of the 5 SPs for each hobby box, that puts the odds of hitting a particular SP at 1 in 2.5 boxes.

There is no chance they have that many, and it makes them more common than a base card anyway.

I am assuming you have like a 1 in 5 shot of hitting 1 of the 5 SPs
