If judge did this, people would explode. This kid is a ballplayer.

There isn't a single game Judge struck out 4 times and hit a homerun.

That is terrible baseball, but he hits a homerun so everything is gravy apparently.

That is a different issue from what StrawMyer proposed (a one size fits all strike zone).

I didn't see the game so I can't comment, but whether balls and strikes calls were missed should be available online somewhere.

Well I'd argue that it's mostly seen as not strange because of the longevity of the rule. If the rule was a standardized strike zone, you might think it strange to suggest varying it based on players' statures. We don't measure soccer goalies for height and wingspan and switch up goal dimensions on account of them being more or less physically gifted.

As far as what size is the ideal strike zone... depends how much offense the league wants to see I guess. Just something that always struck me as unique with the sport...almost like a built in handicap.

It would be a handicap to have a uniform strike zone, as it would benefit tall players.

Uniform strike zone--on its face--is one of the most nonsensical, laughably oblivious takes I've heard in a long time, perhaps ever.

Wouldn't be the first sport with a format that benefits taller humans.

I'd love to the basketball hoop go up and down mid-play depending on who has the ball and is attempting to score.

Had this been in place in the 90's, several defenders probably would have been given concussions when Muggsy Bogues had the ball...

How are his prices since he was called up this year? I was selling IP chrome autos (PSA/DNA) for $350! People are nuts.

Changing the strike zone for every player doesn't cause concussions or ruin the game but it's still an interesting rule. Tbh umpires are so all over the place that even if the rule was a uniform zone, I don't think it would change the game nearly as much as people seem to think it would.
