In 2 games these two things just happened for the DBacks:

- Largest comeback in the Franchise's 3913 game history
- Aaron Nola just gave up more hits (10) or runs (8) than in any other game in his 197 game career

Individually, tonight I think he may have just set the fastest speed (31.5 ft per second) by any player this season as well as hit the longest non-HR of the season (438 feet) that was as long as any of the 41 HR hit today and would have been a HR in all 29 other ballparks.

3 Hits, 4 Runs, 5 RBI in 2 MLB games

Cool fact: At AAA, Reno also won the 1st 9 games Carroll played for them

Have a feeling there is still value in his cards right now.

Rest. He was sitting about once a week in the minors this season too. Just a guess, but probably because they want to take it slow with him and make sure he's ready for next season after the injury last year. It's why they were probably open to calling him up before September, knowing he wouldn't reach the right amount of ABs to disqualify him from being considered a RC next season. MLB teams are now incentivized to have qualified RC players on their opening day roster and have them place in the ROY votings. They get bonus draft picks if they make it to the top spots of ROY voting.

Picked this up last night. I'm officially a Corbin Carroll fan!

Just hit another HR and has brought his OPS up to .813 despite hitting .120 in April. If he was a little younger there would be so much hype.

Personally, I tend not to compare individuals as a whole to each other but

I'll just say mental clarity and a healthy diet are both crucial when it comes to outperforming everyone standing around you.

If I had any of his cards I would probably sell during Spring Training when I am sure he will mash.

The talent is there but not sure the durability will be.

I felt the same way about Soto a few years ago in 2017-2018 and sold all my Chrome's before eventual call up in 2018. Selling isn't a bad idea of course if injury is a concern, but hindsight 20/20 maybe best if I held back just a little more.

I do like the way the DBacks have been monitoring Carroll this season. It's still a developmental year and they seem to be very focused on bringing him along at a certain pace. Everyone says his makeup/maturity is off the charts, and his immediate performance at each level is what has impressed me the most about him.

I think the one thing that seems to be diminishing slowly is the doubt that (if he stays healthy) he'll perform at an elite level in the Majors and it may be the ELITE elite level he's already shown all throughout his life. If you took away the physical description and image of the player and just took a look at stats and scouting reports it's without a doubt in the Trout, Soto, Wander, Yordan, Vlad category with the closest skillset being Trout. There are very few holes in the game and there is the makeup to give confidence that adjustments will be made when they are needed.

I agree.. last year top 3 prospects dipped in September on chart with football taking front stage and popped to highest levels in March and April👍

Despite the numbers, that's a good point. He's already 22 and going into a year where he will turn 23, that is ancient in the card game

Huh?

Think he was talking about Jake McCarthy who is already 25 years old

Carroll's as old as Riley Greene & CJ Abrams and has had a faster track to the Majors than almost any other high school bat in recent memory. Faster than even Correa or Arod. If I'm not mistaken the only High School bats to reach the majors in less Minor League ABs than Carroll are Bryce Harper & Ken Griffey Jr in the last 35 years?

Yep... I was at that game (in Boston). I believe he singled first AB.

Corbin - Age 22-008d
Correa - Age 20-259d
Arod - Age 18-346d

Covid and service time manipulation really created an era of late-starting careers. I wonder how this will effect HOF voting 15-20 years from now.
