Julio to wear #6. Glad that’s over with.

I know the Dallas offense is not what it was last year, but its going to be a long year for the rest of the NFC is the Bucs D plays like it did last night.

The Offense was a bit sloppy. With it being week 1 that was sort of to be expected though. Have they given any update on Smith or Godwin yet? I thought the Oline was solid last night but if Smith has to miss any significant amount of time that would obviously hurt.

Defense was impressive, especially Shaq Barrett who had 7 QB pressures, Devin White who had 8 tackles plus 2 sacks, Lavonte David who looked as good as I've ever seen him, and the secondary suffocated the Dallas receivers.

The diminished offensive line busted its tail, did an outstanding job allowing Playoff Lenny to run for 127 yards. Also worth mentioning are the two rookie tight ends, Ko Kieft and Cade Otten who both did an outstanding job blocking for the run.

Brady looked iffy, but made some outstanding throws, the big one to Julio and the beautiful teardrop to Mike Evans for the touchdown.

Sounds like Godwin suffered a hamstring injury and will probably sit out the Saints game.

Donovan Smith is a warrior; I expect him to be back for Week 2.

Neither Godwin nor Smith have serious season ending injuries. Godwin tweaked his hammy and will be out a few weeks. As for Donovan Smith, he has a hyperextended elbow, and his return will depend on his pain tolerance. I expect to see him back for Week 2 against the Saints.

Week two is a big one

The Saints are basically Brady's version of the Dolphins in the NFC south. He always struggles with them.

The Bucs really need to do better in the red zone to pull this out.

I’d be worried about Godwin. Coming back from ACL and already has a leg issue. Julio, Lenny, Gage and Evans are plenty of weapons though.

I agree. Those two rookie TEs added a lot to the offense. They are both great blockers. I have a feeling Cade Otton could be special. I expect him to get some passes the next game.

I don't think they will. It was a miracle he came back as quickly as he did. He looked solid up until the injury.

A nice nugget of info I saw earlier today:

"Mike Evans now leads all active players in career touchdown catches. With his acrobatic touchdown grab on Sunday night in Dallas, Evans passed Dez Bryant and Hall of Fame receiver James Lofton in career TD catches. Evans now has 76, which ranks tied for 34th all-time with Fred Biletnikoff and Harold Jackson."

Nice! Though too bad that with this news James Lofton is removed from the HoF and enters into the HoVG.

He quietly had a good day Sunday night. I love how he's so consistent.

Not sure how well he does against the Saints historically but hopefully, he comes up big Sunday.

With Mike Evans out the next game for a bogus suspension, the Bucs sign 33-year-old wide receiver Cole Beasley to the practice squad. He is expected to be promoted to the active roster.

This team needs Donovan smith back in the biggest way.

Thankfully Evans and Julio should be ready to go for the next game.

Not worried about this team, with the rest of the division looking like hot garbage, they have plenty of time to round into form

Bucs are lucky the rest of the division is weak. They have time for the O-line to gel, and players to get healthy.

That being said, I think Patty kills them Sunday.

Mike Evans cost them the game. I assume he has a big game this week to make up for being a tool.

He got suspended for being an idiot.

Brady had no one to throw to.

Mike Evans plays, they win

Should have a big week.

He’s a tool

The Bucs offense is wide receiver-driven. But it's not all Mike Evans' absence. Right now, the Bucs offense lacks the explosiveness that Evans, Godwin and Jones can bring when healthy. That’s a big reason why the Bucs have only scored three touchdowns on offense in three games and are only averaging 17 points per game. That’s about two touchdowns less per game than the team scored last year when it averaged 29.9 points per game, which ranked second in the NFL.

To make matters worse, with the Bucs offense lacking three of its top wide receivers, and not having Donovan Smith, Pro Bowl guard Ali Marpet and Pro Bowl Ryan Jensen up front, it’s been difficult for the team to convert third downs and score points, and Byron Leftwich’s play-calling has been atrocious this year. The Bucs have struggled all year on third down, and their red-zone offense has been worse. The Offensive Coordinator's job is to be creative, and so far he has failed that test by calling predictable plays and not calling schemes that would help the team in third down situations.

Right now, it’s just as much about the lack of execution – protection/run blocking up front, dropped passes, receivers not getting open – as much as it is Leftwich’s play-calling. Leftwich's play-calling isn’t helping – otherwise the Bucs’ third down conversion percentage and point production would be much higher.

So it's not all Evans being out for one game. There's more to it than that.

But I'm sure Boo will respond with another stupid gif or emojis. He's good at that
