Didn't someone here said that SGC has money back guarantee on their slabs as well? I can't seem to find any guarantee wordings on their site, can someone help? I'm looking at a card that is graded by SGC and I am a bit hesitant to buy it cause the card is highly counterfeited and I can't seem to find any money-backed guarantee clause from SGC.

Interesting that the PBM / burner account hasn't chastised you for bumping this yet.

Also to answer your question, he hasn't answered it, not likely he will. It's benefiting him now.

He knew the answer when he asked the question. He just didn’t like the answer at the time.

If you don’t like the hostage/extortion upcharge, can you tell PSA to return your cards raw? In other words, what happens if you refuse to play their game? It can’t be legal for them to just keep your cards — or do you agree to this when submitting?

Here's an idea:
If PSA has the confidence to up-charge you for a card, they should be willing buy it from you for your original declared value.

Example:
Let's say an economy level sub (max value $999) comes back a PSA 9 or 10. PSA then up-charges $50 to regular level (max value $1499) because market value is now over $999. They should be willing to put their money where their mouth is and offer to buy that card from you for $999. They should be able to easily list it and make themselves a decent profit, right!?

My own personal example would be a Spectra Jayson Tatum Jersey Auto RC /299. PSA 8 is approx $800 and a PSA 9 is approx $1200. I got up-charged $50 for a PSA 9. But in reality getting $1200 out of it takes time, effort, and after fees etc is pretty much $999 as I originally declared.

They should, but they won't. They're content with ripping off their customers instead.

Has anything changed regarding the up-charge OP is complaining about after his group bought PSA?

No, and it won't. When you're sitting in the drivers seat the view is a whole lot different than when you're grinding for your collection.

Lots of people on here figured that out over the past couple years.

I like the part where they are willing to grade your card more accurately.

Honestly, there are so many card 'content creators' now. Why isn't someone asking the boss about this?
Correct me if I have this wrong, but you can now send a card to PSA in a certain value category, they can move it up and charge you more if they disagree, and then if you've chosen well and it grades well, they then check the graded value, and if THEY judge that the value has increased because it graded well, they charge you even more?

So basically they can 'upcharge' you twice.

Is no 'content creator' touching this?

It's pretty disturbing.

They all have a stake in graded cards.

Side note: I just saw your signature. Which dumbass said that about KG?

It's like buying a lottery ticket, getting lucky, then being upcharged cos you won.

And I have no idea - no one worth remembering!

It may have been answered, but is PSA upcharging people whose cards were stuck in a backlog based on current values 2 years later? Or are they letting values pass through without upcharging based on before the shut down?

If anyone is curious, Nat does reference this thread (PSA upcharge) in his recent interview on the Sports Card Nation podcast.

Decent overall interview and topics (New PSA case coming soon, AI grading, Fanatics,...) but if you wanted to skip to the upcharge discussion, that starts at 25:40.
https://www.sportscardnationpodcast....collectorspsa/

As most expected, his opinion has changed since joining PSA (other side). Insurance, grade guarantee, additional handling, longer to grade....among the reasons provided.

This thread needs to get stickies so people at least know the caliber of person that is running the show at PSA.

So someone changes their mind about a process after gathering more relevant data, not sure any of this proves one's caliber of personhood. I lean more that his former opinion was reactionary than his later opinion is conspiratory. But this whole issue feels like a big nothing to me, and I'm neutral about Nat and somewhat negative about grading.

Public relations fluff job. Just in time?

Remains to be seen.

PSA up charge is still a scam though, always has been.

Did they upcharge the MJ on accident or did some money need cleaning?

The insurance element is the only piece that makes sense imo. PSA really need to just factor that into their standard pricing. Charge everyone a little more. They won't though as they are making far too much revenue off of it.
