anyone win the 1997 Pinnacle Team Certiified Mirror Gold PSA 8 that sold for $5.6k?

i'm stunned how much these cards have risen. certainly one of the harder to find and nicest looking of all 90s inserts in my opinion

wonder what this bad boy would go for...

1998 Pinnacle Certified was a proposed 150-card set, intended for release in early August, 1998. The product was never issued due to Pinnacle Brands' bankruptcy in July, 1998.

The 1 feedback bidder that got it that high makes me question it. But, most of the prices that I've seen, like $5k for an RJ PMG, they all make me question things, yet the cards never seen to be relisted, so I don't know.

All I know is I passed on an RJ Essential Credentials #/73 2 or 3 years ago because I thought $300 was overpriced, and now they are going for $1800 raw. Just glad to be locked into what I have, like the Call to Arms trio you sold me

Man i didn’t want to sell that low but I also wanted them to go to a good home! I’m glad you are still enjoying them…that makes me happy!

My favorite insert of all time is a close call between this and the 97 Gold Embossed Refractor. I only see these rising for all players they just don’t come up

A bonus share for those not in the 90s FB group I pulled this live….

Does anyone know? These Holoview Special FX were 1:75 put I cant find odds on pulling the red-die cut as opposed to the non-diecut version. Any help?

Those red Die-cuts were 1 in 75. Non die-cuts (blue) were 3-4 per box I believe.

Nice pickups! Here are some of mine. The Fleer 24K was acquired thanks to @magicpapa back from the Beckett Message Board days.

Always on the look out for any Paul O'Neill I need.

Been slowly putting this one together, just got the Bonds in this week. Trying to finish this set off, 1/3rd of the way there.

Default 1998 Skybox Dugout Axcess Superheroes

1998 Skybox Dugout Axcess Superheroes

This 10 card set is excellent and was unfortunately not marketed well to catch fire. If these had been released 5-10 years later once the Marvel Cinematic Universe got going (Iron Man, Thor, Avengers, etc.) these cards would have been way more popular. These do not get enough attention.

The borders are condition sensitive due to a bad quality card stock so they are hard to find in good condition.

After seeing the Griffey Red Crusade sell for 29k last month it got me thinking... what is the holy grail of 90s inserts (non-auto)? Sorry if it was answered earlier in the thread but going through 131 pages is too much lol

Individual is probably the 96 MG Jeter like cnewby mentioned. Hard to beat a Jeter "rookie" in a top 5 most iconic set ever.

The set will completely be up for debate. I'm sure depending on the person you'll get Red Crusade, 96 MG, 98 Essential Credentials, Certified Gold Team Mirrors, and others that I'm forgetting to mention. If every Frank card ever made was sitting on a table and I had to pick one I'd be choosing between the 96 MG and the 97 Certified Gold Team Mirror.

Straight up $$$ I’d say

96 mirror gold jeter in a psa 10. Raw it’s not.
A 99 Gem Masters base Griffey and 98 EX now /10 Griffey would be close to
The 2 biggest behind that imo.

It’s not the same for all players but my pick for best 90s set overall would be between 98 EX now Credentials and 97 Mirror Team. I think the 96 Mirrors are over rated #@♂️

Auto wise is 1998 A Piece of the action 3 Griffey /24

Posted these in the Griffey collectors thread, but will post here too.

I’d like to one day acquire all of the American players from the 1997 Bowman Chrome International Refractor set.
