I had a feeling that he would have some lower body injury before the end of the season. Turns out it was before the start, unfortunately, for him.

I can't believe teams let their high profile players play in these cornball events

Yeah. He was probably playing at 30% effort while playing some mailman who sees this cornball event as his game 7 of the championship during his free agent year.

Unless it's in the contract, it's pretty hard to stop them. It's a free world, after all.....

It's a similar situation to how Klay got re-injured playing pickup ball while he was rehabbing.

If you're playing basketball, no matter where, when, or with whom, you run the risk of injury.....that's just the nature of sports.

I don't think being tall and lanky has anything to do with suffering a foot injury. It could happen to anyone.

I get that but I wouldn't be happy as an owner seeing my guys playing in these events. Pickup with other pros, fine. Not these things

The SuperSonic curse strikes again. Hope clay bennett loses a ton of money and ends up destitute, living in a dumpster where he belongs.

The BO doctors never cease to amaze!!

"Zion is always hurt because he is fat!!"
"Ja Morant is injury prone because he is too small!!"
"Chet Holgrem is too thin and tall!!"

It doesn't matter what happens, you were too 'something' when you got injured and everyone knew it was coming. Give me a break.

Everyone with a brain knew this would happen, just not this early with little to no contact.

Yeah, but he was playing in a game that had to be cancelled before the half because the court was wet. They should be a little smarter with what they’re doing in the offseason.

Exactly, boggles my mind how they let them play in these bogus games. I mean they keep people out of summer league game but let them go play on high-school court in a rinky dink gymnasium against regular Joe's giving it 10000%

Seems like a recipe for disaster.

Heck, we are an Edwards injury from Nesmith being the pick of the last three drafts.

Good news for the Thunder:

He's only 20.

Redshirt him so he can pack on some pounds and work on his game this year.

7 foot, 195 pounds is not enough to be banging with dudes like Embiid and Jokic

Big man with foot injury. Shocking! I am disappointed because I was genuinely excited to see him play this year. This doesn’t bode well for his career because most players his size never come back from the first major foot injury. Hopefully he has a good outcome
