So here is an interesting data point, and we can take this with a grain of salt because it’s just one pair of orders. Most of the backlog if not all has clearly been graded. This is a pair of orders sent in the same box. One at the $50 economy level and the other at the $18 July national value level. The value order flew through the process before bogging down at QA1. The Economy order stagnated at grading when compared the the $18 order but is now ready to ship back.

Got destroyed by the graders. I’ve been pretty on point with all 2020 Prizm cards I’ve sent in roughly 80% gem rate and pretty close to 100% on cards I expected to gem. This order had 5 cards from 2020 Prizm parallels of those 5 I was very confident in 3 and 2 others were every bit as nice as cards I’d got gems on before. 1 out of 5… ouch… the other 2 were 2021 Prizm football parallels and 1 of 2 gemmed. So 2 out of 7. Not what I expected

I think the $18 orders are graded by less experienced graders and is seen by only one set of eyes while the higher priced services may get reviewed by a 2nd/3rd set of eyes? There is a difference in volume though between economy and higher service tiers vs value orders (22 cards vs 7 in the above instance). There will be a lot more cards sitting in the value order line at various stages compared to the other "line". I don't think the two types or orders are in the same line.

Exactly, I think the $18 orders went through the same line as the low value “bulk” cards that make up the majority of the backlog. That’s why the flew through grading even though they spent a week longer in research and ID as well as having more cards 22 vs 7. That’s why I made the argument that the backlog cards have already been graded, and the backlog is now elsewhere in the system. My guess is mostly QA since many $18 orders are already either at or past assembly.

Hmmm I have a 2 card express order that was received by PSA on 8/2, but still has not passed Research and ID. Yet my Regular and Economy orders shipped together with this order has already reached Assembly and QA 2.

I would probably call first thing right when they open tomorrow. Their calls fill up for the day pretty soon after opening. That's definitely odd to take that long for an express in R&ID. Even if it was a unique card, I wouldn't think it would take that long.

Is anyone else still waiting for cards dropped off @ the National to be logged as received by PSA? I dropped off 2 orders in person on Wednesday during the preview night on 7/27 (20-card $18 Special order and 3-card $50 Economy order), but I don’t see any orders in my account online yet and I haven’t gotten any updates from PSA at all. I submitted everything online the day before I got to the National, so there shouldn't be any delays to account for additional processing time there. Almost 3 weeks later, I would have assumed these would be logged by now, so hopefully I’m not the only one still waiting.

My list disappeared this morning when I logged in. Historically, it was few hours later I got the email that my grades were ready to view.

I’m thinking they got WAY more than they anticipated right at the end of that July $18 special window. Not only dropped off at the National but online orders filled out and shipped right at the deadline.

Still waiting on call back from PSA on my reslab Hold. It's been 3 weeks and two phone conversations with "promises" that someone from Customer Care will call me back. Nothing.

Dropped my stuff on the 28th. Still waiting to be in the system. I thought they would at least scan and acknowledge receipt there. None of that. 4 20 card at $18 and 1 7 card $50 economy.
I saved $400 on shipping insurance but its stressful not even seeing it in the system 2 weeks after the show ended. If it was in a truck being shipped should have been there by now.

Yeah. Though I did also go priority which flies it across the country rather than stopping at every post office along the way. It got held up in DC and I had to get the Newport Beach post office involved to poke them.

Thanks for the responses, at least I feel better knowing I’m not the only one, but it’s definitely frustrating to see all these mailed submissions jump the line because apparently they haven’t gone through the cards they got at the National yet. I was hoping they would prioritize these but it looks like we’re getting pushed to the back of the line.

I also had some cards that I dropped off with PC Sportscards at the show, and they took them back with them, then mailed them to PSA when they got home after the show, and one of those is already in Research & ID. Makes no sense at all.

I'm starting to get concerned that something happened to a card in my $50 order since it's been stuck in QC2 since Friday. Hope I'm wrong and it's just taking time because someone hasn't pushed a button to ship it

I had an order in QA2 for 2 1/2 weeks, nothing to be concerned about, it's just PSA being PSA.
