It has value, but not for the reason you listed. It has value because they sold it for $2500 or whatever he got for it.

They enjoyed it so much that they couldnt wait to cash in. Good for them.

That has been common practice for many many years now. People need to realize that when there's vague wording on the back that basically means "This memorabilia is guaranteed to be a chinese knockoff". Bumpkins will still pay up for the cards on ebay, so maybe no one really cares lol

The only Bumpkins I see posting in here, are those that think card prices should be driven on the value of the memorabilia swatch.

The swatch itself, on most any card, hardly holds any value. Serious, what would you pay for a 1" square piece of fabric from a legit Brady jersey on its own? $25? Less? Yank the patch out of nearly any card, and tell me how much value it holds then.

No one says anything when a Brady 1/1 base card sells for $3500, and it doesn't have a swatch or auto on it. Why give someone a hard time for picking up a unique 1/1 like this, just because it doesn't have a game used patch in it?

No doubt about it, store bought hat or not, this card looks way better with that swatch in it, then it would as just a base card 1/1 IMO.

I'm agreeing with you, and throwing shade at the bumpkins who whine and moan about patches not being game worn. To each their own

Same here. I look at the swatch as part of the cards design.
Yea it might be cooler if it came off of an actual game used jersey, but it's still a tiny piece of said jersey and isn't all that intriguing to me.
I care more about how the swatch is added to the design of the card.
I hate it when a good photo gets chopped up by the swatch nilly willy.
