It's actually really easy to take something that would cause you to fail a drug test, stuff in supplements that you could buy over the counter at GNC. You can't accidently take nandrolone.

Also every pro (hell every college) organization is gonna know/set your supplement regime and triple check every supplement you are taking. I can't imagine any pro athlete would even take a supplement (if they have 3rd party trainers etc) without clearing it with the org first that it won't cause you to fail any tests.

The most common defense it cross contamination or accidently taking wrong supplements, but again thats gonna be for over the counter GNC stuff

Write a clause in any contacts that stipulate a positive PED test nullifies the remainder of the contract.

If the MLB was actually serious about cleaning up PED use, this is the obvious solution.
