Default Stolen Box Sapphire Box

Hey Everyone

I recently sent out a 2022 Bowman sapphire box to a myslabs customer and he received it then sent me request for help since the box he received had nothing in it except the packaging material. He said it was fully sealed had not been pampered with and when he opened it, the box was empty.

Unfortunately I thought I sent with insurance but only sent with signature confirmation. I have the receipt that I sent it from the post office when they scanned it in and it does show that it weighed 8.5 oz. So someone opened stole the bo and re-sealed it.

This looks like I'll be sending a refund as I do not think I have any other options. Any suggestions or next steps I may try feel free to comment.

Finally I'm asking if anyone comes across a bowman sapphire box with the code shown in the picture (see below) please LMK thank you Craig

Sounds like the buyer is scamming you. I would reach out to the Myslabs team and see what they recommend. The fact that he admitted it was sealed and didn't look tampered with should help you I think.

This would be my first thought, as well. Hope that you get to the bottom of it.

I thought same thing.

But I think you need to clarify. What was fully sealed that he opened? The Sapphire Box or the shipping box?Extremely suspicious if he opened an empty Sapphire Box.

But I think you just meant he opened the outer shipping box. Which all of us would probably do even if the weight seamed off.

Does MySlabs give you ratings on the buyer? Like ebay with their stars.

He said the outer shipping box was sealed and when he opened it there was nothing inside so the Sapphire box was missing. What concerns me is he is saying that the packaging box doesnt appear to be tampered with, and no sign of additional tape. this doesnt make sense to me there has to be some sign

Hammer and ripp I did reach out to the myslabs team for there view on this I'll keep you all posted

thanks Craig

Wasn't there recently a case with Phil Hughes that confirmed the PO should have the weight upon delivery as well?

I’m thinking it wouldn’t matter as the thief could try to replace the weight.

But if the box were empty…

The only person that's going to come across a box with that code is the guy you sent it to and maybe his trash guy after he has thrown the empty box away.
Hopefully the guy will go to jail if it's easily proven he took it.

thank you I found him but I couldnt send a message because his Twitter acct is locked so hopefully he'll accept and I can ask what he did. The clerk at the Post office was not aware of knowing the weight of the package before it gets delivered, so I'll have to wait and talk to Kristian

OP: I'd tell the buyer you will be filing a report with the police and post office regarding theft of the box.

It might not get you anywhere, but it may put a scare into him. It sounds like he's scamming.

… and mention the receipt reflects the weight when shipped. That should put a scare into the person

I had this happen to me.

Bottom of the box was cut open and resealed.

I thought in phil’s case the scammer had told him what the weight was when he received it as opposed to the post office telling him. I could be wrong though.

I had someone try to scam me on eBay once, I sold a gold coin and he said it was fake, then mailed back an empty box. I was tempted to stop all communication but I kept responding to him and he kept changing his story and contradicting himself. It may be worth trying to keep him talking to see if his story starts unraveling.
