Wow, what a great find! May I ask how you acquired these? eBay? How did you find that employee? Those autos all look good and consistent, but not having official stickers is a bummer. But the ink sure looks good from here.

That's an authentic aftermarket auto, not part of the official set of autos from Star Pics.

Yes these were through ebay. I originally bought quite a few signed Twin Peaks Star Pics cards from them. And upon talking to them they mentioned their mom worked at Star Pics. Then he did some digging and found these. All the Twin Peaks ones had stickers. I also bought a few signed basketball ones as well. A couple with stickers and a few without. The non stickered ones seemed to all match nicely with other examples

That's awesome! I just found the listing on eBay, wow you got a steal, and if I had seen it in my daily searches, we might have had a bidding war on our hands! The lack of a sticker I would think does bring down the value a little, but I have no doubt the ink is good, and getting an authentic Chris Farley autograph on anything is as good as gold right now.

Enjoy the cards, they're already beautiful, but at that price especially, they're absolutely gorgeous!

That looks close on first glance, but lots of red flags. The auto itself shows hesitation marks and resembles other legit ones, but there are a few glaring differences. Also, the Star Pics authentication sticker is completely wrong, never seen that one on any other legit Myers out there.

Thank you very much. I ended up trying the PSA quick opinion for $10...they agreed, likely not genuine.

I guess I will keep looking...

A couple more fakes surfacing out there, watch yourself folks:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/354035575164
https://www.ebay.com/itm/354035576699

They claim to be pack-pulled: "the card went straight from the pack to the magnetic holder." Although in 25+ years there are NO verified examples of any of these being pack-pulled. Also note the sticker on the Adam Sandler card is completely wrong.

Trivial red flags though, when you simply look at the ink. Stay away.

I am not saying those are real, but that guy seems to have a wide variety of decent non-sport autos for sale. It doesn't feel like a typical scammer to me. I am sure it is possible they got duped on whatever they have and put it back for resale. I wish we could see some real ones pop up. I would love to purchase them.

Sorry for the bad links guys, I always instinctively crop out all the tracking and extra nonsense in the URL. I don't think this seller is the original source of these cards either, I just hate when someone makes a pack-pulled claim - sounding as if they were the one to pull it - when it's obviously and blatantly false.

couple more SNL autos hit ebay yesterday from the same seller:

Mike Myers:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/363914468441

Al Franken:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/363914471163

Hope these links work, eBay is only showing me these direct links when I copy and paste.

The Franken is undeniably real, matches every single other authentic version I've ever seen, but the Myers is just as much undeniably fake, unfortunately. Wrong authentication sticker, you can see the nick on the edge of the sticker where it has been removed from another card, and the auto has obvious hesitation marks and you can clearly see between the K and E in MIKE where the pen has been lifted up and put back down. Stay away from that one, but I see it already has a bid on it.

Assuming these are being sold on consignment, the seller has no other SNL and very little other cards for sale but wanted to update the community.

Given the ridiculous production numbers back then they could have each signed a 100 and you would not get one in several cases

if anyone reading this is a bidder or looking to bid on this signed Chris Farley SNL Star Pics card, beware it's a lousy forgery, and I can absolutely blame this on the person listing it, as they claim to have pack pulled this themselves recently.

It's a filthy rotten lie. If the seller sees this, you're a liar, take this fraud of a card down.

Cut and paste link in a new window if Blowout doesn't post it properly. (edit, should be working)

I’m not doubting you, but just curious how you know this? Have you dealt with this seller before?

It definitely doesn’t look like any certified auto I’ve ever seen of Farley. The F transition into the a is usually the first thing I look at. This is way off.

Love this thread…

I regret not trying to get these signed IP when Phil Hartman filmed Jingle All the Way in MN years ago…they had a Mall of America event that I am sure would have been great…sigh

On the bright side, I’ve had good luck getting these signed IP through the years. Some have too many cards to get at once so the hunt continues. I’ve focused on 88-93 ones:

Steve Martin (exception)
Adam Sandler
David Spade
Chris Rock
Rob Schneider
Al Franken
Dana Carvey
Kevin Nealon
Victoria Jackson
Dennis Miller
Tim Meadows

Myers would be the one I’d want before anyone else, but I think Lovitz might be the only one I don’t have yet that’s somewhat likely.

The transition doesnt look super different than the PSA/DNA examples of this card I see in OP and ebay, but moreover there are problems with third party authentication of existing autos and I take it with a grain of salt. If Im reading the OP correctly, a Chris Farley auto from this was submitted to PSA and failed twice. Then the same auto card was submitted again and it was authenticated, certified PSA/DNA. That should be alarming to anyone in terms of third party authentication of existing autos.

I haven't, but I don't need to. They make the claim that they themselves pulled this card. If that were true, they'd be the first person I've seen in over ten years make that claim. I've been studying this set and Chris Farley autos since 2012. It's pretty much common knowledge that SNL autos were NOT packed out. And common knowledge how this and other Star Pics sets are rife with forgeries. But that aside, the ink is so far off it's laughable, and there are other easily determined tell tale signs that it's a fake. The seller didn't do his homework, and I'm more than happy to call them out.

Sadly, PSA/DNA has authenticated multiple versions of this card that are fakes. I have some of them pictured in the posts in this thread. Some are legit, no doubt, but they don't have a good batting average when it comes to Farley, that much is for sure.

There's is actually another Farley auto currently listed for sale on eBay that is PSA/DNA authenticated, and 100% legit:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/22585780331...mis&media=COPY

I have no connection to the seller, have no idea who it is, but see if you can spot the differences between this one and the forgery listed above.

Since the seller says its pack pulled that is just a lie...these were not pack inserted. About half the psa copies are no good. I have a Beckett example that is authentic but not many real ones out there
