The vast majority of cable subscribers are older americans / senior citizens who don't always know what their bill is, they just keep paying it and they aren't watching these sport leagues that are all predicated on those cable bills.

I’m surprised how many streaming sites exist that don’t get shut down fast enough.

Cable seems like it will be obsolete soon with all the streaming sites too.

I think this goes overstated.

It would be nice if games could be more affordable, same with League Pass and jerseys. I get why it isn't but there's nothing wrong to want to go to, say, 2013 or 2014 prices (inflation adjusted of course).

And the original comments was about how crazy it is to have this salaries. Average young role players are making Fortune 500 CEOs money. Once again, I get it, but it's a little crazy that we live in this era.

Meh, consumers (demand) determines these prices not the players. Like MC1, I haven't paid any premiums to enjoy the NBA experience.

Base value of the ticket prices are reasonable to me (depends which city you're in) it's the secondary that kills it.

I mean, the owners must have even more money, they're not all stupid. I mean Dolan is, but they can't all be stupid giving guys that don't even play a quarter of a billion.

Gallo to Boston. Spurs with 37M in space - do they accommodate taking on Russ's salary for a 1st in a 3-team LAA/Nets/SAS trade?

Pop is looking to retire slowly and peacefully, not have a heart attack on his way out.

Untill the Lakers are willing to give up assets to move Westbrook no one is going to give the Lakers anything for a guy who as might as well wear a ski mask during games since he's doing nothing but stealing money.

Hawnks still making moves:

Trading Huerter to the Kings for Justin Holiday, Mo Harkless, and a 1st rd pick

The owners of the team should be making the majority of income a team generates. They're the owners of the business. That's the way life works. Start your own business if you want more of the profits and control over what happens. Become a Junior Bridgeman or Roger Staubach. These players certainly have the money nowadays to branch out beyond basketball.

I like that trade for both teams. Huerter should get a chance to start in the void that is the sacramento kings

Pick is lottery protected in 2024, top 12 in 2025 and top 10 in 2026.

I like it for both teams: Hawks move Huerter for a pick since they now have Murray in his role and the Kings move a pick (plus two useless pieces to them) for size on the perimeter who can space the floor and slot in at the 2 or 3 and I much prefer him to start over Monk.

It makes an interesting last week for Atlanta.

They improved with the Murray trade, but aren't quite going all in and all depleting future assets at this point. Trying to build in a sustainable fashion.

Weird to see it in the league today.

I'm still not a believer in Trae, but always like seeing teams build organically.

Went from dealing him as a key piece for Kevin Durant to adding him to a first round pick to get Malcolm Brogdon.

Justin Holiday is a solid 3&D guy, Mo offers little and it's at least a 1st that may convey

I think this is a precursor to another move - because both Harkless and Holiday are on expiring deals, so this is clearing $16 $-18M a year in future salary.

I know it is a homer thought but I think the Hawks can be players for KD (they have the 4th highest odds).

- Miami can only pull it off if Brooklyn trades Ben elsewhere
- Brooklyn does not seem interested in Ayton at the moment
- Jaylen Brown is the only star you could trade for KD without a third team after all these extensions and taking into account the rookie extension/Ben simmons trade situation.

The Nets will not want to go full scale rebuild because they do not want to watch Houston picking for them. Hawks could still offer any of Collins/Capela/Bogi/OO/Hunter/Griffin/Jalen/Coop + our 2023 and 2029, whatever pick swaps, and now this pick from Sacramento. A package of Collins, OO, Hunter would a be a fringe all-star, #6 pick, and a #4 pick all under 24 years old.

2-3 of the Hawks players + Simmons + Claxton + Whatever they get for Kyrie and in FA would keep them out of the bottom 5 and depending on a Simmons comeback and overall team fit that could make them a play-in team. Might not be enough to avoid the lottery though.

Worst case scenario we've maneuvered enough to be the 3rd team in a Phoenix Brooklyn trade where KD goes to Phoenix, Ayton goes to Atlanta, Bridges, Cam Johnson, Picks, + ATL players go to Brooklyn.
