If I remember correctly, a board member owned one and sent it to PSA for grading a couple years ago. Somehow, when PSA was sealing the case, it melted the corner of the card. I can’t remember the other details though like how much he was reimbursed for the card, etc.

That was Soto's shrinkydink I believe.
We've seen a few US250 clears on here but never a 10 to my memory(which ain't great)

The corner melting thing happened to a Soto 2018 Update Clear.

I know that several Acuna clears had high grades, and I think I've seen a BGS 10 sell at some point. I posted my PSA 10 a few years ago, included in post #3 in this thread.

You’re right! I knew I was fuzzy on the details. That was such a sad thing to hear when it happened.

Why is it now a PSA 6? Did you try to regrade it?

A honest person in the hobby. I sure hope PSA provided some compensation.

Im pretty sure he got it back as a 9 and contacted PSA after noticing the heatshrunk corner and said "hey now, what happened to my card here?"
I believe they sent some compensation and re-graded it based upon actual appearance after warping it.

This is correct. I could have kept it as a PSA 9 but then I don't think I'd have been able to look my kids in the eyes when I preach honesty and integrity to them. And it's not like it wasn't an obvious issue - I received it and thought it was some optical illusion for a few seconds until I realized it was most definitely jacked.

Sent to PSA. They kept it doing a damage review for months but I had initially valued it at $1900 or something that is now almost ludicrously low. Even by the time the damage review was done, an Acuna clear had gone for $7500-10k. I sent it back in to regrade and it mustered a PSA 6.

Still looking to add more if you find em!
Doesn't make any sense at all. I'm up to six of the 2019 Topps Update Ryan Helsley Clears but I've only seen four total Camos (own 2) and 2 Meijers (own both).

Really respectable actions.

I’m a big fan of the clears, but I never thought I would own one because I would want one from a player I like and those can get expensive. But this popped up a week or so ago and the seller gave me a great price on it, so here we are: my first clear. It’s such a cool parallel to see in-person. Hopefully I’ll be adding more soon.

The only clear acetate card I possess is the 2019 Topps Update Clear US56 of Fernando Tatis Jr. graded BGS 9.5.

- Does anyone know what the last one sold for?
- Any ideas on current value?

Feel free to add humor!

It goes for 80. Sometime after he returns next year, it wouldn't surprise me if it went for 162.

I had two clears in one pack in an Update box from Blowout, Nats Lucius Fox RC (with a nice ding on the left edge) and Mets pitcher Chris Bassit.

Default Topps Clear variation/10

There was a time a couple years ago I had almost 80 of these, all RCs and mostly bums. A few guys panned out, many didn’t but they’re my favorite baseball cards for sure along with chrome blues, flagship blacks and heritage red autos and black refractors.
