Yup. My normally well-stocked Target had plenty on retail release day (6/24).

On a side note. Are the Silver Slugger inserts actual GU or are they the manufactured relic pieces of crap?

I got one of those crappy manurelics in a freaking hobby box. The reason I buy hobby and not jumbo is to avoid them. I'm still pissed off. They are the biggest rip off in the hobby. Put some rusty nail in a card with a picture of a baseball player and tell us it's special. Right.

Yeah, I'd generally find (most of) the manufactured relics kinda cool-looking, IF they were just treated like any other insert and didn't count as your hit in a box.

Had some reward points at my LCS and decided on a hobby box of series 2. It didn’t disappoint!

Like many others have said, there was a 2nd SP (Will Clark) in my box as well.

Now to decide if I sell at these high prices and buy back in a few months

Question about these SP's - what #'s are they? Is there a rhyme or reason to what cards they are?

Like, I know that Series 2 has a Gerardo Parra card that is the exact same as his series 1 card (same pic and everything). Are the SPs of Julio Rodriguez taking the place of these "throwaway" cards? Or is it, like #661 or something?

The rookie SPs, if those are the ones you're asking about, are card numbers 658, 659 and 660, replacing the normal players on those cards (just like the 'Legends' SPs/SSPs of retired players do).

I did buy and open one jumbo case - had a good experience with a strong box. But the point I came to make was that in my case, the hits were distributed consistently.

Each jumbo box had one manufactured relic (4 silver slugger - Larkin, Gwynn /50, Ripken, Boggs / 2 all star game patches - Jeter/Griffey Jr.)

Each Jumbo Box had one game used relic, including one auto/patch /25 of Rendon

Pulled a total of 9 autos - one per box in the packs, one box topper Yelich /10, two silver pack - Hoskins/50 and Oneil Cruz /199

Hit one Home Field Advantage Franco.

Some tier 2 variation SPs, Stanton, India and Goldschmidt

Easily in the black from listing the hits only, approximately the best 10-15 cards from each box thanks to the HFA and Cruz cards as well as the Hoskins, all had very active bidding at .99 BIN 7 day.

Yes, the Jumbo case I opened was similar and that's been my experience with the last few sets as well - each box had a manufactured relic, a real relic, and an auto. Unlike you I haven't pulled a single topper or silver pack auto (unless my memory is failing me), but that's well within the odds. Similar results on SPs/SSPs, and I actually pulled two HFA from this S2 case, so that was a nice bonus (though I'd trade both the Yadi and the Yelich for just a Franco, ha).

I still don't think the manufactured relics should count as a hit, even though they're less painful in a Jumbo box than they are in a Hobby box.
