What would be nice is if they said...

We made 2,500 boxes
There is a total of 45 Tatum autos
There is a total of 2 2003/2004 Topps chrome basket ball boxes
Etc

I'm sure it will still sell out, but at least you know what all the bonuses are for us degenerate gamblers

That being said, I bought one last year after being on the fence and I'll probably cave and buy one this year as well... Although I won't be able to pick it up at the National this year

a few years ago the bonus prizes were cases but no matter what, you would get a bunch of boxes. now the bonus prize is a box and you get a bunch of packs. disappointing....i'll probably buy some anyways.

I’m ok with the pack idea as long as the packs are mostly if hobby and have some guaranteed hit type packs. If there are prizm hobby packs, mosaic hobby, Topps tribute, etc this could be fun. If you get a lot of prizm blaster packs or fat packs of anything it’s going to be rough. Last years seemed like a loss when they were announced and they ended up being pretty decent. Blowout will pull through for us…I have faith!

Swag is only guaranteed with a case of 6 purchase. Random otherwise. I was hoping for random shirt colors this year. I have far too many gray Blowout Cards shirts.

Yes, happy to gamble, but nice to know the odds before putting the money on the table.

Blowout isn't doing this promotion as a charitable foundation.

They are a business and the aim, quite rightly, is to make a profit.

The boxes do look great, but they also demonstrate the dilemma for a potential purchaser.

Let's say there are 20 high end boxes, with a combined value (Blowout sale price) of $100,000.

To make a profit just on these boxes means a lot of boxes must be worth less than what they are sold for.

A rough idea of the odds of hitting the jackpot would help in deciding to pull the lever (I'm old school!).

Blowout’s ‘value’ hasn’t adjusted to the current market. It’s tough for them, but I’m afraid that even the ‘winning’ boxes will be lucky to clear $300.

True "Swag" is inserted in cases only although we should have some extra at the show for random box buyers who pick up at show

Candy is a definite !!

The feedback in this thread is appreciated and we hope everyone is happy with what we put together.

Our goal is to provide a fun affordable product with the chance at some outstanding hits.

This is a realistic and admirable goal, though the end product will speak to the results of said goal for this year. My question is, what was the goal of last year's megamix? If it was the same, Tom, then you should know it failed miserably. Perhaps this year will allow for redemption. I sincerely hope that it does.

Genuine suggestion - pull out one case from the inventory and sacrifice the sale of it by instead ripping it live for a video, so that people can get an actual idea in advance of what the "at least 10 packs" portion of the boxes might look like.

You'll always get people who say "oh, it was cherry picked" but there will also be plenty of people (like me) who'd be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. And I'm sure you can also find some way to make a giveaway out of the 'sacrificed' case, or something - kill two promotional birds with one stone.

An even better idea is to just be transparent about how many boxes are actually being made and how many of each 'hit' item are inserted in the run so people have a more general idea of their odds of hitting one of the more valuable items. I don't buy 'hit parade' but at least they are honest about how many boxes of each product are made.

I go to the casino, I know my odds on blackjack, roulette, craps, video poker and even a general idea of the payback on a slot machine.

Let's be honest here, 95% of people are treating this as a scratch of lotto ticket, hoping to hit something expensive. Guess what, a scratch off ticket has the odds printed on the back.

There's only 1 reason I can come up with why they are not giving out this information.

Well yeah, but we all know that isn't happening.

100% agree on the need for releasing the total box count. I don't mind them not listing every hit only because there are often additions as the show gets closer and the original sell sheet paints a clear enough picture of expectations from a product perspective. Provided of course that you know how many megamix boxes are in play overall. The lack of transparency on the box count is at best a disappointment to the customer and at worst a total insult to, and complete disregarding of, the customer.

I bought 47 of those last year and would completely disagree with you. There was plenty of value, and fun, in that product. Not sure if you bought or how many, but across mine I found solid value and that's without hitting any real bonuses(which pissed me off in 47 of them).

Now this year's I haven't bought any. I'm disappointed the format has completely changed , but thats the creators choice to make. People will piss and moan no matter what they come up with. Can't win

Mr. Fish,

Would you kindly consider a non sport version alternative in the future. Thank you very much.
