It’s a win, but when a third of the 6 other hitters in the lineup are able to produce, Boston will not only surpass being 3 games over .500, but be in double digits.

I'm not worried about the hitting. I'm worried about the pitching.

Anyone know when Chris "paper mache" Sale is coming back? After the all star break?

Is anyone else concerned that all their recent “top prospects” have been major busts?

They haven’t developed any young talent since Raffy…

Michael Chavis, 3B.
Tanner Houck, RHP.
Cole Brannen, OF.
Darwinzon Hernandez, LHP.
Sam Travis, 1B.
Mike Shawaryn, RHP
Bobby Dalbec, 3B.
Jarren Duran, OF.
Jeter Downs, 2B

Every single player has been a bust or has regressed since joining the Sox organization.

It’s too early to tell for Groome and Mata, but injuries haven’t helped.

Casas, Yorke and Blaze all look worse than last year…

I’m starting to think there’s something terribly wrong with our player development…

That just may seal being 4 games over .500. Hope that creates a stretch to 10 games over.

@pewe.
Most HR’s ≤ 25 YO, in Red Sox history, through 609 or less games

1. Rafael Devers - 127
1. Ted Williams - 127

Memo to John Henry the RED SOX owner.
Pay Devers his money.

Fantastic!!!

What I was trying to predict the other day: how many HR will he need to hit at 30+ years old to make 500

Can he make it to 300 by 30??? Seems like a stretch, unfortunately

Amazing how hard it is to hit 500

@pewe.
People don't get the man Devers is only 25. 25! He is 4 years younger than Betts and Bogie. Ten years younger than JD Martinez. If I am the Red Sox they be better loading up the Brinks truck now with money. Devers is Manny or David Ortiz in their prime. To make it seem clearer Manny joined the Red Sox at 29 and Big Papi joined at 27. This Devers is something special. I hope they don't blow it.

Could it be that when Betts became a free agent the Sox had seen Devers as their future cornerstone. Unlike Betts, Devers didn’t disappear in the playoffs. Make no mistake, Betts is a GREAT player but many greats seem to fold when the competitive greatness of the Post Season occurs. Devers is the cornerstone and I feel like Boston played that hand.

Yep you look at the scores every day and the only time teams in this division lose is when they are playing one another.

They almost came back against Toronto last night, I think the Orioles days of being doormat’s are almost over they even seem more competitive this year.
