I can see price of these boxes plummeting. No way are they worth $600.
I too follow golf very close and never heard of Braden as well. Man, I would hate to get his autograph and feel for the people who pull him and then google him and realize they got the 810 best player in the world.

Not denying that. But I don't think that's enough to sustain $600/box. They're already selling for $480 obo on ebay...

First of all, you said "plummeting," which implies a crash of at least 50 percent. Second, all new releases when in hands of sellers for the first few weeks are lower on ebay until supply comes down.

Let's see where these are at in a month or two. I'm confident they won't follow in the footsteps of Artifacts.

Disclaimer: all bets are off if the entire market collapses due to everything else going on in our economy lol.

Nice to see UD carrying on the runny star auto tradition 20 years later!

I would feel like a big fool if I bought into this break or pre-ordered a box at the $600/box rate.

That’s how I started feeling about a week ago. I preordered a case at about $500 a box. I just got my case in today, I had every intention to open it but now I’m not sure what I’m going to do. While I love Upper Deck and think the cards look great, it looks like it will be a bloodbath. Kind of wish I waited for it to pop up on epack.

I think very few are opening the product at this price. I was excited for Rasmus & Nicolai Hojgaard Exquisite autos... that aren't on the checklist. So I won't open this unless it becomes very cheap.

I’m a big upper deck fan as well and I was excited about this product until I heard about the presale price.

I envisioned about $200-$300 would give breakers and retailers plenty of room for profit but when I heard $600 it blew me away.

I mean, the year is 2022 and we are in a recession, not the 2021 pandemic pump.

Breakers and dealers are just being greedy and trying to squeeze every last penny out of customers before the inevitable crash.

I’ve noticed that by being patient, the wax prices will come down to us. I almost got fooled into paying $1200/box for wwe prizm and now the local shop is begging me to take some at $700.

If I were you, I would just bust the case and enjoy it.

Yup, spot on with that statement and agree on busting it. I bought strictly for the entertainment value.

I saw those myself but I also noticed the sellers who were selling at those prices only had 1-3 boxes available. There may be other listings out there now that I haven’t seen but it feels like those boxes are probably the last few boxes from a case in which the “case hit” was already pulled. Sellers trying to recoup whatever they can from there case quickly.

Man, I was so pumped for this product but some of these cases are BRUTAL. First of all, there’s no way anyone should be buying loose boxes. I’ve seen quite a few with no autos, and ones with as many as 6. Perfect UD. Second, what happened to case hits? It’s bad enough that UD considers guys like Tony Finau “A-list” but I’ve seen cases where the best hit was a Duval moments auto, LPGA triple auto or Tim Herron auto /10. With a product this nice you should at least get a case-level hit of Justin Thomas caliber or something.

Just absolutely horrible execution on golf product as a whole, which is a shame considering how many people have been begging for a new product, evidenced by people paying 8-900 a box on release for Artifacts. There are some monsters in this product but I’m afraid I’ll never see most of them cuz this stuff isn’t getting broken much at this price point. Hopefully it’s at about $299 by the time it hits epack.

Guess we have different definitions of plummeting.
If I buy a stock at $600 and it's going for $400 the very next day, I'd say that it plummeted. Last box was $399 and one is listed now at $410 obo which means it will probably go below that.

I'm just hoping this isn't ridiculously expensive on epack.

Well I don’t mind taking one for the team. Just opened my case. My opinion, stay far far far far away from this product. Notes from the case

- I haven’t looked up prices but I have to think I got about $250 in resale value back.

- Best autos, either a damaged Tom Lehman SP Chirography or Tony Finau Sign of the Times.

- Makes sense why some boxes are so cheap. Two of my 8 boxes had zero autos, one had 3 and one had 5.

- I was short 2 F/X cards. At this point I could care less.

- Not one numbered card other than the autos. Seem strange to not receive a numbered base in a case?

- This product needs to be a $100 a box. I dont put all the blame on Upper Deck, they just butchered the correlation. I put the blame on it getting marked up to $600 a box and people like myself who bought it at close to that price.

- Lastly, I probably needed to experience this case. It has put a sour taste in my mouth in regards to purchasing wax. Can’t see myself buying much more until prices are corrected.

No problem. The autos I pulled are in the break section for anyone who wants to check them out.

I’ve been killed on plenty other cases, more so over the last few years compared to 5-10 years ago (overprinting?). But I’ve always been happy with at least one card from those cases.

For anyone who plays golf, even if I shot 100 there was always that one shot that kept me coming back. With this case I did not feel that way whatsoever. Just an avalanche of tops, duffs, shanks, 3 putts and an occasional 4 putt.

Was just browsing SP Authentic autos and noticed the DeChambeau and Morikawa base rookie autos /299 both have bubbling. Not an issue for any other autos from SOTT or base rookie autos /799. Not sure if it's just a few bad autos or not? But it's a weird observation so far.

Boxes at the show this weekend were down to $400 and no one seemed to be buying. As WillyBeaman said above, box prices still need to significantly drop to make these worth opening.
