With Starballs already being included in the regular Topps UEFA Champions League product, there's really no need for a separate Chrome product.

If I want a Chrome card of a player in that design, I'll just buy a Starball......

I think I saw them for roughly $300 USD on B/O pre-order.

I think this new 'Framed Rookie Sticker' is a very interesting concept and wonder how they will do the parallels as listed in the checklist? I was imagining a Allen & Ginter style 'framed' sticker but with a red parallel to #/5 are they just going to color the frame border..? Guess we'll have to wait and see!

what’s the latest on date here?

Beckett says 5/25, cardboard connection says 6/3.

Then they both have merlin on 6/1 which doesn’t seem like that should hold either way.

When I bought my Box it was scheduled for 5/25, but has been pushed back to 6/3

These are in hands already - so if not BEFORE Friday, Friday seems realistic.

They added a bunch of color (this means perceived value, but general parallel inflation not great as it's getting v v watered down).

32 parallels it looks like
3 non-numbered (refractor, speckle, ray wave)
29 numbered accounting for ~3,500 total per player

9,000 CASES of Hobby
5,000 CASES of Lite

This compared to:
4,200 Cases of Hobby, 55,000 blasters (2,750 cases?) for 20-21
1,500 Cases of Hobby for 19-20

Same parallels insertion rate for hobby as last year (which is like 2/3 of 19-20's)

Numbered per dollar (right now) better in lite (2.5 numbered per box if I'm reading grainy pack odds correctly versus the 4 in Hobby)

It's effectively a 2x over last year (maybe more) and a 10x over 19-20.

But with everyone just ripping through the last remaining UEFA Flagship after we've insatiably eaten that gem up... I'm very thankful we won't have to go hungry.

Someone pointed out as a response to my tweet that it’s 200 vs 100 in the checklist which is true and helps them with the volume increase but further blunts per box value. Along with parallel inflation it’s a double whammy, IMO.

With 20-21 in the 350-400 range right now available, I think this still inexplicably has life in the 250-300 range but at some point we’ve got to see this sub-$200 barring a major breakout from a Gavi or someone else beyond what we’ve seen so far.

I couldn't believe it when I first read it...then I check the odds and yep, it's true. 9000 Hobby cases.

Who on his right mind thought it would be wise to put out this much? This is gonna tank out of the gate. Base RCs will be even more worthless. Soccer market is nowhere ready to sustain 10k+ total cases when the WC is coming!

blasters or bust… $20 last year was amazing, $30 won’t be as fun.

Hockey can handle 10k cases but soccer can't.
So little progress in 8 years.

/99 parallel is too many because there's not even that many Ronaldo collectors let alone anyone else.

Just some fascinating numbers if all of this is in these 2 SKUs (and probably fairly close even if they split that LITE volume into actual LITE and some other SKU like Blasters)...

Just under 50k base chrome/player (up from ~45k)

Given increase in checklist, in an entire 12 box case of hobby, you'll make 3.2 sets (so you'll only get 3-4 of each player in an average case)

There are ~4,840 silver/standard refractors per player (up from 4,150)

Across the 32 parallels we know of in these 2 SKUs, there are over 10,000 parallels per player

Legends variations are tough - 300 base per player (5 subjects)... but if pack odds are to be believed, every player gets 500 "Gold Lava"... can't wait for people to be irrationally excited about those if that's true (oh... and 150+ "Orange Lava" per pack odds of each of these 5).

"oh, but man - those framed stickers are going to be SICK!" - so sick they are falling on average 1 every 200 cases or so. Quite the chase for sure. But if pack odds are what they LOOK to be... you'll get one in every 50 cases or so of LITE. Not so lite as it turns out!

I've still not seen a SUPER clear shot of the LITE odds... and haven't seen any evidence of another SKU. But these are at least close observations.

The physical Chasing Glory cards look quite nice, the Golazo look better than the mock-ups too, still not a fan of the Future Stars though.

edit: I assume these are made in Italy again as all the early box breaks on Youtube seem to be from central European sources.

If they were made in Italy, I wonder if they will have the same condition problems with the numbered, colour parallels that they had with last years products like F1?

The weird thing is that, assuming 9k cases, you are expected to get 12.5 red framed stickers in Hobby. Total. Which is only 25% of the print run...and if there are 12 or 13 total red framed stickers in Hobby, the pack odds would be completely different (significantly lower or higher).

Something tells me they messed up the odds for that. Haven't seen Lite odds yet but I can't see a scenario where they put 75% of the framed stickers there.
