Sigh...so many sticker autographs... Are masterworks and stellar the only products that mostly have on card autos at this point?

Even those sets aren't 100% sticker-free. But collectors keep buying while they complain, so the stickers will keep coming.

What's the point of a set like this? Aren't there already enough Star Wars sets?

as a shop owner, with a physical store, Star Wars hobby boxes across all spectrums sell out usually within a few days of our cases coming in and in most cases just a day or so..... There is a demand for product. Group breakers will also eat this up as it's an easy break.

I guess I was trying to look at it from the point of view of a collector, it feels like there are too many Star Wars sets coming out one after the other.

Glad you’ve got a product that’s flying off the shelf, it can’t be easy these days running a card shop.

This set will sell very well, but the ROI will be awful.
It's funny how Star Wars products are selling for 2 or 3 times what they were a year or 2 ago, yet people weren't making a ton when you could get boxes in the $50-$75 range.

The build of these is for hit chasers -- auto and some other cards along for the ride.

It's easier to make, easier to break, easier for them to offer less and keep some premium-release $ coming in vs. some larger set that they make tons of and go retail/hobby with to have the sales slower over longer time.

I hate to bump a thread that hasn’t been active in 6 months but these just loaded on Topps’ for $140 per box. For anyone opening at that price, “May God have mercy on your souls!”

Exactly. They could be half this amount & you would still lose money on most boxes. 95% of the autos are non-numbered common sticker autos, that are worth $20 or less. I like the look of the parallel base cards, but Star Wars box prices have gotten out of hand.

IIRC cost was $49 per box. 3 years ago these would have retailed for $60 and likely dropped in price after retail. Baseball boxes are leveling back out to normal but Star Wars seems to be going the opposite even though it traditionally has the lower ROI per box. Crazy times are still upon us.

It's fun to listen to people breaking cases of this today pretending to be excited about another Dee Bradley Baker autograph because it's numbered /50.

I opened a case for less than what Topps is selling it for. Autos were rough but I knew that was probably gonna happen. It was a fun break though. Did hit a 1/1 base.

I'll post my case in the break section later this evening.

It’s fun to look back earlier this year to Masterwork and remember the first Bad Batch autos that he signed for each character were selling for a nice amount. Fast forward to 3-4 releases later and there are now so many different autos of his to choose from that most are $10-20 bucks. I bought a Masterwork canvas /25 for $30 not long ago.

I’ve seen breaks where each spot will get 1 card and the cost per spot was ~$50. You would need to be in what, the top 3-4 spots to at least break even?
