I don't know about everyone else, but even the number of cards I would submit at $20 has fallen in the past month. I am now looking for the $12 range again for modern.

Looks like CSG would be your only option of the "Big 4" with $12 bulk service.

Yup, QA2 over the weekend for both economy and regular. 4/1 received economy still in grading. Not to mention 2/15/ received economy dual service still in research. Ugh

I had a received order on 4/7 pop today. Moved rapidly through assembly/Qa1/Qa2 (4 days total).

I’ve noticed they’ve been pretty late to announce a lot of weeks.

Sure will be interesting to see what happens once PSA is done with the backlog. At Mint Collective session of "The Future of Grading" which you can watch on YouTube, Kevin of PSA was talking about digital grading low end stuff which makes me think they will not lower prices too much because quite frankly, they do not want lower end cards coming to them.

I'm guessing the announcement will precede an event for one or all of the value services. And economy being opened for use without a lottery. Otherwise, I don't know why they wouldn't make the announcement now.

Whenever they have an event for value, it's certain to get flooded.

agree on them opening economy. not sure how they take value subs when they still have a backlog of…value subs.

In one of the earlier podcasts, they said they'd do lotteries for value before completing the backlog. I wasn't expecting it quite this early, but I can't think of any other reason to keep this a secret unless they just want people talking about them. It could be a limited allotment for vintage or set builders, who knows.

can you link that?

not sure how they would justify grading new value subs ahead of the ones in the backlog.

They'll probably run lotteries for value and just put those submissions behind whatever is left in the backlog. My guess is they're targeting a three month cushion, so when they're at the point where they're three months from finishing the backlog they'll start running value allocations.

I hope this is the way they go. Having 3 value subs still out there for well over a year, I would be very upset if value subs jumped ahead of me in line.

Sounds like they are just going to make Economy publicly available to all at $50 like the other tiers. Doesn't sound like they are dropping the price yet.

Yeah, I assume that's how it would work. On the 4/28 psa podcast, they said they were 3-4 months from completing the backlog. Wasn't expecting value lotteries for at least a few more weeks but we'll see.

I don't remember when they said they'd likely hold lotteries for value this summer, but it was discussed in the Feb events thread back in March.

Order Type: Economy (Member Allocation)
# of cards: 6
Order shipped: 3/29/22 (FedEx)
Order delivered:04/04/22 (FedEx)
Order received per PSA: 04/04/22
Prep: 04/07/22
Research & ID: 04/14/22
Grading: 05/02/22
Assembly: 05/03/22
QA1: 05/04/22
QA2: 05/09/22
Shipped: 05/09/22

Results:

Topps 1965 Bob Clemente
Grade: 4.5
Expected Grade: 5.5
Really tough on this one. I figured the absolute floor was a 5.

Topps 1987 Bret Hart Rookie Card
Grade: 7
Expected Grade: 9
Gutted. Devastated. Etc. Had this in my collection since 1988-ish, pulled it myself as a very small kid. This is the one card I wanted a favorable grade on more than any in my order. This sucks.

Topps Heritage 2004 Chrome Yadier Molina Rookie Card /1955
Grade: 9
Expected: 9
This is where my order turned around. Spotty centering on an otherwise flawless card. This was a big win.

Upper Deck Sweet Spot 2001 Albert Pujols Rookie Card /1500
Grade: 9
Expected: 8
Another big get for the PC, especially for what I paid raw.

Bowman 2017 Mega Box 1st Chrome Prospects (Mojo Refractor) Ronald Acuna Jr.
Grade: 10
Expected: 10
Pulled myself, so I was happy my eyeballs got this right.

Topps Finest 2013 Refractor Mike Trout
Grade: 10
Expected 10
Knew this one would be a 10, hence why I included it on my short order.

I ordered 600 of the Acuna Living Set cards and pulled my best 100 for grading. Just checked the results and had my absolute worst results by a long shot. 35% Gem rate and 3 8’s out of the lot. Total BS if you ask me. Should have been at least on par with the 57% Gem rate for that card. So after waiting 15 months and probably another month before I get the cards back in hand, I’ll be lucky to break even after grading fees.
