That is a FAR cry from the predictions people were making that these were going to be 50 to 100 dollar base cards.

I think after seeing it opened my opinion remains the same... Really cool set but I don't see how people opening boxes are making even half there money back unless they hit one of the big ones... Going to be a blood bath for a lot of people opening single boxes.

Pretty much every box made in the last 3 years.

Bro, it's always been like this. I open up a ton of wax a decade ago. First to market set the price and then after that, it trended down. The top 5% of the print run will hold really well over time and appreciate in price.

Numbered base and color blasts, that's where the long term value is. I think the allure of the autographs (outside of the duals) will fade as most people will realize that the majority of these signers have on-card autos for much less.

Long story short, the market hasn't changed, mainly just the prices.

I ordered a box last night WWE Prizm Hobby at $950.00 from a well known card Instagram personality with a card shop. I have the receipt and confirmation of the order. It was in stock when I ordered it. Will be interesting to see if they ship it to me.

Either open them all or stash them away. Opening one box to scratch that itch will be like scratching a cuticle which then goes all the way down your arm.

For base cards sure they are and they should. but we will find a floor very soon.
Now when it comes to numbered cards and colored cards that is where the hold will pay off.
This stuff is even shorter printed then i even thought.
The cards to have will be the reds, blues, purples, atomics and so on. The hobby only stuff.
The best time to buy the colored stuff for any product of any sport is the 1st 2-3 weeks it comes out when everyone is rushing to sell and recoup stuff.
Then a few months down the road alot of those cards are locked up in collections and the price starts to rise sharply and then a year or 2 from now those numbered and color cards will be up drastically.
Happen like clock work in every sport in any product.
there are gonna be a lot of people that want the /299 /199 /99 /49 version and so on from this product.
The wwe has a huge collector base and this is 1st year prizm so that helps a tad.
The supply of some of these cards will not be able to keep up with the demand.
especially for the superstars in the product like
the rock, hulk hogan, undertaker, andre the giant, stone cold, etc.
those numbered cards and colors if you want them the time to buy is in about a week. they will get scarce and start demanding more.

But what 2 boxes of topps are you getting for that price and do they offer cards and autos of the top stars in them like prizm does and rare numbered cards.
That is the difference.
I dont know of any topps products recently that do.

I mean, I know it's not the same but doesn't 2021 Undisputed have a really good checklist, has on card autos as well as stickers, and other goodies for the price of about $400 a box?

Prizm is all about the color though but I do think the price is driven by Prizm Hype Bois a bit.

Do I have FOMO, yeah a bit. But I think in a few weeks I'll either forget about this release or look back and be happy I didn't buy any because 100% chance I would have opened the boxes.

I’ll let Blowout do their first buzz thing but looks like Panini getting their use out of the license. The preview card for RK-Bro is nice.

Also maybe I’m late but Panini Instant has a Mania set, can get a Gable RC base, yeah it’s not Prizm but affordable option if you think he’s really going to be huge. The Reigns has a great photo and despite the hate for Instant I think the Cody card for he redebut and Austin card for last match are worth a look too.

Yes Undisputed has that. It also has the Fistographs which are a pretty big chase and a good dual auto checklist as well including HHH/Mankind, Reigns/Cena, Edge/Jeff Hardy, and Kane/Undertaker

The one thing Undisputed doesn’t have value wise is a hit like Color Blast and the non-auto color from Undisputed isn’t really appealing at all like Prizm.

It all depends on what you want. Prizm is all about the color with autographs being a nice bonus. If you want autos then a set like Undisputed is the way to go.

I’ll be curious to see how something like WWE Immaculate or National Treasures would turn out?
