Not to be a Debbie Downer but this feels like them pulling stock not because they’re sold out but because they don’t want to leave money on the table. Boxes will just continue to be delisted higher and higher until they stop moving.

True. And people will snap them up when they appear.

I am surprised they just don't break more of them. Surely they make more of the breaks

No offense, but what you “feel” and what is actually happening with this product appears to be horribly incongruent.

I "feel" the hype and quality of the product is getting people buying now because it's just going to skyrocket to the moon!

You’re right, the big online sellers have never played games like this over the past two years when wax has exploded in price.

If people truly think these boxes and cards are scarce then you do you. Boxes seem to have more unnumbered Prizms in them than numbered which tells me they cranked the presses on this.

Nice looking product and honestly, I’d rip a box or two of it was around $800 but as prices continue to go up on wax, and the majority of single prices come down as more is listed, people who do open in the future will be more and more likely to lose their hat.

I wonder if it's true that the print run on this hobby release is much smaller than other sports.

retail will be printed like crazy

People said that about UFC Prizm last year. While it might be more SP than NFL or NBA, the print run is still astronomical compared to most releases.

Again, cool product and I almost bit the bullet and bought a FOTL box last night for $2k but more often than not, singles cool way down when the initial hype dies off and credit card bills come due while wax prices continue to climb. The equilibrium between the two is way off, not just for this, but in general. The ceiling might be a bit higher but that just means when busting wax, those floors become even more painful.

Trust me, I bought tens of thousands in wax years ago so I know full and well that breaking wax is a losing proposition. It's just magnified now ten fold with how high prices have gotten.

Boxes "back in stock" at BO for $1299. At this rate retail is going to be tough to get even if the print run is crazy.

Ebay results suggest buying into a 12x hobby box break will cost:
$15-25 for Level 1 wrestlers (Montez Ford)
$50-100 for Level 2 (Lashley to Big E)
$100-$500 for Legends (Foley to Austin)
Over $1k for Bron Breakker
Over $2k for dual signatures (straight purchase)

I'm debating on if it's worth dropping say $250 on HHH. Really I'm after signatures, and those can run much higher, but I do see a lot of more affordable cards....wondering what the field says in their experiences doing breaks with high prices.

I do think hobby is very sp relatively. Heard most distributors got 1 case or less if any at all. Time will tell.

That did not last long. Gone.

I am not sure retail print run will be crazy. Panini had to look at Topps products and give a best guess on how well they did. I don't think even Panini would have predicted this much demand. Goes to show just how strong the Prizm brand is.

They are still available at 2 of the other big 3 for $1349 and $1399. I was planning on waiting to try to get retail but FOMO got the best of me this morning when I saw a box for $975.

Not sure if last year's UFC retail was any indication of how this will do, but those blasters got down into the $40 range on the secondary market at one point if I remember correctly. This does feel like it's hotter coming out of the gate though. It will obviously sell out instantly if Target or Walmart drop any online.

Well for what its worth I just watched several copies of the Steveson and Breaker base rookies sell on ebay

3 Stevesons sold back to back to back averaged about 23 bucks
2 Brons sold back to back for about 32 bucks.

That is a FAR cry from the predictions people were making that these were going to be 50 to 100 dollar base cards.

I think after seeing it opened my opinion remains the same... Really cool set but I don't see how people opening boxes are making even half there money back unless they hit one of the big ones... Going to be a blood bath for a lot of people opening single boxes.

I just want to memorialize this one. I’m pretty sure it’s not going to age well at all. But not surprising considering the source.

Sounds like prospecting in sports where you can get in early for less but if the player explodes then there’s room for growth

I don’t think you’re wrong, but couldn’t you literally say that about just about every product today? That’s the thing to me, some of you guys just haven’t adjusted to the new market.

Oh for sure. I have no interest in adjusting to the market. I do this for fun strictly as a collector. I sell very very little. I find this whole new market interesting and respect to you and others that have used the hobby to turn a profit. I think it's fantastic, it's just not something I have any interest in doing.
