Finally pulled the trigger on Topps Chrome presale. Got in at $300 hobby. With J Rod, Witt, Wander as almost locks and then Adley, Abrams, Tork, Green and many others potentially adding in this product is probably going to skyrocket even further.

Don't think he will start the season on the big league squad. He's only 19, the Mariners are not going to lose a year of control for 30 possible games played. I noticed nobody was commenting after his 0-3 game with 3K's and an error against the White Sox. Only comments after an inside of the park HR, or triple with an error

But that's if I ran the Mariners

And they have 3 possible DH's
Winker - Toro - Torrens

Much more possible Mariners will carry 3 catcher and have Torrens DH.

Could be the best Topps Chrome checkist ever

Dont worry about supply. People will still buy to try and pull these guys
Prices are cheap compared to what they will sell for once released in 4 months
Risk is very low at this price point in my opinion and the potential is huge
I expect jumbo case prices to go from $5,000 to around $7-8,000

When does a prospect need to get called up to make it into Topps Chrome? Is it opening day roster or by end of April?

Odds are greatly improved if by Opening Day.. maybe 90% shot they are in
Otherwise I would say maybe up to mid May (1.5 months before release) maybe 50% they are in

I have to think topps/fanatics will spread this out to keep people buying every product this year. Someone will most certainly get the Wander treatment and be the headline for 2023 series 1. They aren't going to just give us a loaded product. That's more a in hindsight type of thing except for BB21. Believe whatever conspiracy theories you want on that one.

Everything is possible with Topps..
However im more than excited with the potential of this years rookie Class, it will definitely be loaded. Looks like the MLB wants the young guys up soon this year which will attract more people to baseball..

And yes, Topps might hold out some of the players, but they might also decide to add them to all products.. Especially if they are up by Opening Day

Doesn't new rule say if he finishes top 3 in roy voting.Teams will be awarded draft picks.Also if he wins he gains a year service time anyways.Alittle more motivation to start the season than before.

Yes he did have an error night before and a base running blunder. But if you watched the game the next night he didn’t make an error on almost the same play and he didn’t have the base runner blunder at 3rd he watched the 3b coach and made the turn with the inside the park homerun. My point is he’s gonna make mistakes he’s young but he’s showing he can adapt learn and grow from his mistakes Dude is hitting .360 this spring. Also he’s 21 now. And is clearly one of the best 26 players on the roster

He’s a very exciting player on the field. Hits for power and can run. Great to see him beat out an infield single in his 1st at bat last night and then steal 2nd. 2nd Ab got down 0-2 and ended up walking. Scored all of the Mariners runs last night. Hope he’s out there on opening day.

Agreed. Seems like other than going 0-fer the rest of spring training, he will be the starting center fielder.
