Every good thread needs a villain.

I am relatively new(er) here over the last few years and have had this thought more than a few times! It is amazing how just a few posters can quite literally derail and suck the joy out of these threads.

Exactly. This thread would be pretty boring if it was just filled with "Trout is God" posts. Always good to have another perspective on a player so you'll think twice before flushing your next paycheck on Trout cards...

Didn't mean to "suck the joy" out of this thread! Just giving my point of view of Trout.

I enjoy banter and contrarian views when they are presented in a way that stimulates a good conversation and is logical in nature.

Blowout has a growing number of posters whose sole intent is to apparently shred a player, continually pound an illogic, and almost irrational point of view.

Not saying this is you, but I am trying to merely allude to the things that just do not benefit the conversation.

Mike Trout sucks/is fat/has a roid head is not a hot take. Respect the gifts and talent, even if you don't like the player/team.

Has anyone here come across the Trout Superfractor from 2021 Stadium Club?

For reference, this is the card image/design I am referring to:

I guess I must respect the talent approximately 10% less? I wouldn't have thought so, but numbers don't lie... (Though, let's be clear - I respect the talent significantly more than 10% less if we consider relative cost, haha...)

Okay, I'll post a valid Trout question. Do you think it's a good idea to let him continue to play center field with that calf injury? Wouldn't it make sense to put him in right field to limit the potential for trashing that muscle again? It appears that Trout told Maddon what to do, which isn't the way it should be. It seems like a good idea to put him in right field to save wear and tear on that leg. Maddon's going to get a lot of heat if he blows out that calf again while chasing down a deep drive to center...

If he has dropped some weight as I have read somewhere and is feeling 100% physically, then you let him play where he wants - he has earned that. They can still rest him with Marsh/Adell as needed.

Personally, I hold onto some notion that he had secret surgery to repair that calf.

Heres a cool one that some might hate but with the excitement of baseball being back i wanted to share. I posted about this a while ago when i took the risk and bought it raw. 2011 Sterling Red refractor MISSING SERIAL NUMBER Trout red refractor. Somehow Beckett didnt add missing serial number to the flip, which they have done on other examples of trouts from this set (there are black and purples labeled "missing serial number" graded by beckett). The true red refractor is a 1/1 (hasnt been graded by PSA, BGS or SGC) and while this must be backdoored, its the closest ill get to owning a trout rookie 1/1. cant beat the red color match either.

I always thought it referred to the Fed's permanent open market operations.
