HUGE! Absolutely great they are both able to see it happen.

That now makes 6 Players in as Twins!

Maybe we can see Torii, Morneau and Nathan get in as well this year! Really not possible as it is Morneau and Nathan’s first ballot.

Morneau won't hit 5%, Torii don't see him peaking above 45%, Joe needs Wagner to get in and then has a shot but it'll take a while

I realize all that, was just saying it has been a while since the Twins have had so many names on the ballot.

I think Morneau may get close to 5%, I actually think he may be slightly above it. I also don’t see Torii make it to 45.

Tough with the lockout not having much going on this offseason to chat about. Thought I'd try to breathe a little life into the thread by sharing some of my favorite Twins cards I have from 2021 releases. Will post a two at a time to hopefully get some activity going in here again-

1. 2021 Topps Update Black Gold Alex Kirilloff - these just look so good in person. Wonderful throwback to the original Black Golds

2. 2021 Stadium Club Chrome Autographs Nelson Cruz - so glad Topps put out some Cruz ink with the Twins. Was such a great player and fun to have with the team, and I love that the image got his big smile

Here's a more exciting conversation starter- the Buxton flagship Platinum RC 1/1 has surfaced! Pretty cool. It can be yours for the low price of $80,000...

Really liking Celestino, trying to pick up more and more of him this offseason.

Also need to snag one of the new Buxton dynasty patch autos, love the look this year

I have met both players and are class acts. Tony Oliva married a gal the lived 30 miles from where I am from and live. She was from Hitchcock SD. He has been to our hometown 3 or 4 times for baseball camps back in the late 80s early 90s. He is just a great person.

Well the Twins traded Mitch Garver

To the Rangers for Kiner-Falefa and a decent pitching prospect

This sucks. I really liked Garver. I think this says a couple things

- Twins aren’t looking to truly compete/go for the division in 2022.
- They trust Jeffers to make a big jump.

Another year of a Garver/Jeffers tandem certainly isn’t the best for the lineup because it’s a mismatch having 2 righty catchers who hit lefties pretty well but struggle against righties

What a gut punch

I agree, trading Garver is not ideal.

I am okay with Kiner-Falefa though. He is a Gold Glover, and has a good bat. My biggest concern is why the Twins are doing this? I was pretty sure Royce was ready to go, so why give up our stable decent player behind home to get a stop gap until Royce is ready, if he is not ready now?

Are we really relying on Jeffers full time now? That is a really poor idea.

Royce tore his ACL last year, combine that with no minors in 2020, he needs some at bats in the minors before bringing him up to the majors. Even if it’s just to get seasoned, he hasn’t seen live ABs in awhile

I wouldn’t say that’s a poor idea. He’s a pretty well touted prospect. Last year he struggled but that was because Garver got all the good matchups while Jeffers got less playing time/tougher right handed matchups. Now Jeffers will face all lefties which he mashed in the minors

Jeffers is young, we need to see more before saying giving him playing time is a poor idea

I disagree, he’s still a widely regarded prospect. Yes he was a first overall pick but drafted out of high school. Takes time to develop and was affected unfortunately by no 2020 minors. Injury was a setback but I still think he has plenty of talent

I know his ACL could set him back a little bit, but I haven't seen anything about delays with him getting back to it. I still fully expect to see him come up this year, and it seems like the Twins are sending the signal that they have given up on him by trading for a higher end SS.

As far as Jefers, only time will tell. I don't remember him being that highly touted as a prospect, but maybe I just missed it. I was not overly impressed with him so far, but it is a small sample size. I don't see him being a bad second catcher, actually, he's probably ideal for that, but as the full time starter I just don't see it. Hopefully I am wrong.

Royce will be up this year provided no setbacks, but when you haven’t faced live pitching in 2 years, he needs to start in the minors to get adjusted again. That’s a totally normal thing

I also disagree that IKF is a high end SS. He’s a good player but he’s also versatile. He can play all over the infield. He’s a good middle tier SS but if Royce shows off his talent, they won’t hesitate to put Royce in

He’s an elite pitch framer already so defensively he’s got everything you need. Just need the bat to find its form which he did hit very well in AAA last year

1st Rounder Chase Petty just traded to the Reds for Sonny Gray.

I like this move. Solid inning eater with a good k rate, closest thing we have to ace material at the moment. Sucks losing Petty but glad to see them do something to address the rotation.

Twins traded for Sonny Gray!??? That’s a big time move!

So maybe we do have eyes on competing this year?

This is a move in the right direction.

I really like Gray, hopefully we add at least one more to compliment him.

Ugh, wow...Reds are already giving up on this season. Twins def win this one. Reds basically gave up their best pitcher and got nothing.

Source confirms: Yankees acquiring 3B Josh Donaldson, SS Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Ben Rortvedt for Gary Sánchez and Gio Urshela.
