Default Fake Slabs for Sale on Etsy by DeReplicationStation

I know they are obviously fake for those that have been collecting. However, new collectors are often easily duped and taken advantage of. So, maybe if I posted it here, it could save a new collector from getting scammed. https://www.etsy.com/shop/DeReplicat...items_shophome

.....Having 2 trips to con college under his belt our lead designer and CEO Sam wants you to know: be careful with the products we sell here. We know they are dangerously close to the originals. Have a great day and thanks for stopping!!

"Sam went to jail twice. Don't get greedy, find easy marks."

Sam, you suck.

OP thanks for sharing. Sad etsy allows this fraud disguised as "art" or such. Knowledge is still king.

By this logic, you should never buy art either. Someone may poorly counterfeit it!

Between Facebook and still, eBay along with the other sites, these listings are going to kill the hobby. I've never seen so many "RP" listings and now "Replica" listings. All complete BS.

I would imagine contacting Beckett/PSA is the way to get this shut down. It's one thing to create a replica card, I imagine it's fraud to replicate an industry-accepted marker on that card that says it is real.

The PSA slab looks obviously fake with no hologram or anything on them. Clearly looks like paper

The BCCG slab is a little harder to detect but who buys BCCG anyways?

Bad enough to sell fakes, but to charge $100 or more for them is just fraud, plain and simple.

Send an email to PSA with a link to this guy's listings and maybe they'll tell him to shut it down. Etsy needs to clean up it's act. No way should they allow these to be sold on their site.

On the left side of the front page of the Etsy shop, there's a link to report it for violating Etsy's terms of service. Here's a quote:

"Counterfeit or unauthorized items are prohibited on Etsy. We consider counterfeit or unauthorized goods to be items that imitate an authentic good, particularly by using a brand’s name, logo, or protected design without the brand owner’s consent."

I reported it. Feel free to report it as well.

The one good thing about 1099-K forms with Etsy/eBay/PayPal G/S sellers, is that now there is going to be your name and income verification for these scammers. Hopefully we see a crackdown on this by PSA going after these criminals and setting an example out of these scammers. It would also be good to see Fanatics going after people selling "Reprints" of Topps cards. A few people going to jail would be a great deterrent for these questionable authenticity sellers.

I haven't seen any recent efforts from Topps, relating to these counterfeiters but Upper Deck has several ongoing cases against these types of sellers.

Unfortunately, without any legit punishment, these scammers just don't seem to care.

I've posted on the topic before but even when hit with federal fraud charges, one scammer was given permission to continue selling, because it was the only thing they could do.

"Nucero was released from custody in August and allowed to continue selling on eBay after telling the court it was his livelihood."

Convicted of fraud
https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...il-fraud-case/

A few years later, the same individual was caught counterfeiting again and Panini just said, stop doing that.

PSA will most likely serve a copyright infringement takedown notice and have the storefront taken down. But nothing more.

Talk about bold, though.

The funny (or not) thing is that when you scan the QR code on the 2017 Patrick Mahomes, it goes to the PSA listing for some Pokemon card. I guess we know what the template was.

This is faulty logic, I’m not investing in cards. Seems you do, good luck with that with all these repros.

You can buy all the reproduced art you want on art.com. Check it out, I buy there all the time. And not for investment. .

The nerve of this seller… this is outright fraud.

The “serial numbers” on these fakes even match the PSA registry.

From the about page:
“ Long time card enthusiasts, we believe you shouldn't have to be a millionaire to have grade 10 cards. Or anything for that matter. Items sold here are generally just intended for personal purposes and for clout. Having said we know that people aren't always Beaver Cleaver.
