Curious....

What's the highest a Zion card ever sold for, what's it worth currently, and what's the forecast in the next 3-5 years??

I personally don't think Zion has more than 5 years left in his career. Getting hurt and hurt again is one unfortunate thing for young player. Being able to find the work ethic and internal drive to bounce back from it is another. I feel bad for him and also feel bad for all the Zion investors out there and since I think the hobby got a huge push because of Zion mixed with pandemic, I also think once everyone witnesses and feels the large investment losses when his career is gone and over, some people will possibly say the hobby is gone also because who is willing to invest on rookies again in that extreme manner??
But as most have said, don't invest in people who haven't proven a damn thing....invest in those who have. Simply collect cards of the unproven and tuck them away and see what happens but at a very low cost. Paying amounts that are the same as it costs to purchase a home for the unproven is a little extreme and bad investing IMO

I'm just glad I never bought an on card auto like I wanted to.

I guess he still has a shot to rebound his career, but ooooooh boy it's looking bad out there.

On the court, yes he played like a top 10 player IMO, but I doubt he still has that explosiveness and his desire to be great is well....non-existent it appears.

Or you could invest a smaller amount instead of betting the farm on a single dude while prices are soaring on hype...

I shouldn't really talk though, I went all in on Ja since the start of last season. Could just as easily been him struggling with injuries. You win some, you lose some. Hopefully Zion gets back in form... I made a few buys just in case he does.

So a few unfortunate injuries means that someone’s desire to be great is non-existent?

What is funny to me is how opposite ends of the reports on him are, youd think he'd clarify.

Not staying in shape is a pretty big concern

You could make the same argument about Luka, Harden, and probably a bunch of other guys this year. The fact is that nobody has seen Zion in what feels like months, so I won’t comment on his conditioning until I see him on the court again. I think a lot of the “Zion is 400 lbs” takes were probably overblown or exaggerated.

Harden gets crapped on for his conditioning too, I don't know remember about Luka though.

He might not be back / reason:
He doesn’t care to stay in shape, when all of his medical problems are from his knees down —- ‘cause he’s a FAT slacker

…. and yes I’m bitter, because I have a sizable investment on the line!

Luka and Jokic have repeatedly come into seasons fat and out of shape. Zion is still just 21 years old. We always lose perspective on these guys because they're under such a microscope but most 21 year olds are irresponsible. He has plenty of time to grow up and take his body more seriously. Relax.

I can understand the criticisms about his weight and discipline 2 years ago. But the public snaps of him in a tee (minus the triple layer Fubu cosplay) both over the summer and winter showed he may have been in the best shape since coming into the league.

Also, if you go down the list of NBA players that have had 5th jones fractures, there is absolutely zero evidence it's in any way correlated to weight. Actually quite the opposite.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comment...sal_fractures/

None of those guys outside of Glen (who was never good) strike me as buffet bandits.

It doesn't matter. The media narrative's already been set for the remainder of his career. Regardless what the facts are or how his actual vitals are measured in a medical office, it's far easier to crack a joke or recycle a 20 month old meme in this era of uncritical thinking.

Perhaps KD's pinky toe and achilles were the delayed resultant of unpasteurized breast milk. /askdocs

Why should he? He doesn't owe anybody anything; he'll play when he's healthy, and not before then. Honestly, all the jokes about his weight are probably motivators for him not to say anything; why feed into the trolls like this?

Zion and McCollum haven't even spoken since the trade?

Zion does not ever make it back or flames out in return We see him go to the WWE put on another 100 pounds and become the son of Kamala and paint his body and slap his belly?

Not a bad idea...could possibly mean an ability for employment for Kamala's former handler/manager KimChee (who was played eloquently by Steve Lombardi), who must be looking for work.

I have a bad feeling the story of Zion will end as a sad one, a what could have been. He was fun to watch, hopefully he can come back and have a healthy career.

It’s possible but he’s only 21. Hasn’t been fun seeing the set backs but he’s still got time.

I think how he comes back from this particular layoff will say a lot. He’ll def be back though.

I think he forces a trade out of NO and his story will ultimately be decided at his next stop.

TMZ reporter states that Zion was overheard saying this in regards to his rehabilitation:

"Pass the Twinkies please."

this is the positive side of things but with his style of play and weight, its going to be hard on him with the injuries hes had.
