I know indexes have been getting shade the last 6 months or so, but this seems like a great example of why that's the smart play versus trying to pick winners when the stakes are this high to the downside.

Might want to do the 3 day thing for the price targets to hit and get through the FUD choppiness.

With FB it looks like they are hinging their future on the metaverse taking off. Even changing the company name to Meta. The metaverse is not something I would see my self enjoying personally, but what is everyone else’s take? Will it take off with younger generations?

I won't comment on them all, but EW is a winner.

ISRG is the king in the robotic medical device space, but EW isn't far behind. It got absolutely crushed in January.

I also like JPM but that stock has been beyond the ceiling of what I would pay for it for a few years, anyway. Any time it dips, the whole market is dipping so there is always something else I want to own more.

At $65B, I could see SQ being purchased. That is a lot of cash though, so the deal would need to be...creative.

Certain board member was telling me to grab some FB at ~$330, finally pulling the trigger at $249.

Sweet Baby Rays is indeed good BBQ sauce.

jan 31 was a good test. it should lead to better/new resistance bases. 375 down today, and more room to fall. Charting current volume of my top 10 buys, and staying old school with a pencil and notebook.

I bought JPM simply as a “safety valve” to weather the storm for the next couple / few months. I don’t love it long term but it was like 15% off for seemingly no reason. I’ll ride it on the way up and put it somewhere else.

Volatility be like that.

For the record, FB is a decade hold.

Analyst downgrades this morning and from current levels to new PTs it’s a bigger gainer. Wonder what kind of money is buying vs. what kind of money is selling?

Can we get a TikTok IPO to save the market???

Market doesn’t need saving. My group is up 3.5% YTD. It’s been a tough churn but this past month has provided an opportunity to generate a square portfolio.

A lot of stock picking is a decent forecast of the market based on reality (November and December provided a bunch of canaries in the coal mine) and then a pivot towards where you see the market giving you money.

At the end of the day, the market isn’t broken and even if it were tik tok wouldn’t be what fixes it.

‘Twas a joke….

I’ve reiterated buying SPY/VTI (or whatever) throughout the year. There will be no market collapse nor a recession.

Too much money abound.

But for real, if you wanted to play the social space wait for TikTok to IPO.

Long: FB/TikTok
Short: Snap, Pins, Bumble, Twitter, Truth Social

94% insiders selling the last 3 months.
6% buying.

Not including today's sell off.

No, but it will yield greater long term returns than it was going to do a week ago...

Just pointing out your insider sales are 1 part of a 1,000 pronged story and not really indicative of anything...

Most of these tech stock are just going to go back to pre covid prices.
Nasdaq has not moved at all since July.

It's almost as if executives have scheduled selling programs or something
