Crazy to think Zion was an All-star starter in his 2nd season lol. They were saying the same thing about Ja when he was down for the count with injuries. He jumps to much, has no shot, bad defense, etc. Look at him now! Lakers just salty because they trash this year.

I feel like he's not even in optimal shape last year and he was still dominating. This year was supposed to be his breakout year and his official entry to Superstardom- which is expected for most players on entering their 3rd season, but it's unfortunate to see him sidelined with another setback.


It's far from over, but the lack of concrete information rom both his camp and the Pelicans has really hurt him.


Willie Green seems like he's coaching a nice squad in Nola but I personally would love to see him enter RFA. Zion in LAL or preferably in Miami would be a dream come true.

I think staying away from Prizm Silvers is wise. Although they're always the first to be pumped.

An on card Rookie Auto of Zion might be my next move.

Z's injury was the biggest sporting killjoy for me since the Ryan Leaf medicine cabinet exploits.

I still think he comes back sometime soon after the AS break. As bad as the Pels are, they're still hovering within a few games of that final play-in spot since the rest of the league continues to be ravaged by covid craziness.


This is where I draw the line though. He ain't available for the 22-23 season opener, then I'm out like John Amaechi.

Yeah this is the ultimate issue with ultra modern, even for players that I really like or that I decide I want to buy. There are millions of cards out there between so many sets, versions, inserts, and parallels. I am getting more and more hesitant spending money on anything recent. Even serial numbered parallels, while that one parallel may be limited, overall supply isn’t limited when there are 50 parallels in every set. Being selective seems so important these days.

But yeah, nice on card autos I can get behind.

I don’t own a single Zion card but Anthony Edwards is my current favorite player as a wolves fan, so all of these problems apply to me collecting him as well. I’d actually like to add a decent Zion card during this dip though. Maybe a Contenders auto?

I think the Contenders Auto is a beauty.

I think Optic Holos are nice also. And even though Prizm is high Pop, it's still a staple.

Somehow my Zion PC has morphed into almost all #d Chronicles stuff and pending redemptions that I feel like I'll never get.

That's one way to look at it, but another lens is that between all the millions of cards, sets, versions, inserts, and parallels, there is likely something out there that you'll like the look of and might even be more affordable than if there was a much lower supply of available cards of that player.

Man, I didn’t realize how far his prices had fallen lately. Just picked up a really nice on card rookie auto for a little over a grand. I feel like that’s a steal if he eventually returns to form.

Can't believe it's been over a month and not a single capture of Snorlax in the wild. Not a covert cellphone sneak, not a group selfie....nada.

I know the Nike campus is the self-contained sporting equivalent of the Vatican, but man...that's wild he's basically faded into obscurity.

Bossman got the GrubHub drivers signing NDA's on the low.

We should be getting news any day now...but who knows.

For sure. I had been waiting in vain to grab a decent sub 1000 dollar on card auto. I figured the fear and risk factor would eventually get the better of a few people but apparently not.

Curious to see what his prices do when he returns to the floor and what level of play he will need to come out of the gates with to meet the collective expectation of the masses. I’m still a Zion believer, but I’m not wildly throwing money around either.

I feel like getting the true Impeccable rookie /75 for around a grand is pretty decent and I had nothing else of his. I’m hoping he gets back this season, but I haven’t heard anything one way or another.

Smart man. He's still a risky asset with his future very much in question.

A return later this year should make current buyers look very smart. The anticipation pump from an announced date should be substantial on its own.

Picked up one of Zion's Spectra Celestial PSA 10's last night. I had purchased one last year and sold it regrettably, nice to get one back. Aesthetically these are one of my favorite cards of 2019-20. Based on where the market is currently I probably overpaid but considering it's nearly half what I sold it for last year I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Trolling? I think he’s just saying what a lot of people have been thinking. I’m rooting for Zion but Ja obviously looks like the way smarter choice at this point.

He's being protected. Lot's of money riding on this young man, and I don't mean this hobby. If I'm on his PR Team, I'm making sure he makes an appearance on the sidelines at the All Star Game here in a couple of weeks. Great time to get exposure so long as he is in shape.

New Orleans is still only a game and a half out of the play-in, so I don’t think it’s out of the question to speculate on Zion still coming back this season. T-Wolves at 7 and Pelicans at 10 would be a really fun play-in game if Zion is healthy.

Honestly, would it be insane to reply that draft and take Ja first? Maybe not as high of a ceiling as Zion, but his floor looks way higher. Zion could be one of the greatest to ever play or a bust. Can you say either of those about Ja, no, but I'd be willing to bet that Ja has a longer career than Zion at this point. Just way too many question marks around him right now.

As with almost any injury, we can revisit in a year and see how things have progressed.
