EST is the only time that matters. At least you gave Evans and the Sucs the kiss of death!!

Love it! I'm hoping M. Evans will be donning a gold jacket as he makes his way into the stadium after he read our thread.

On to the games!!

Lambeau will be cold, just not cold, cold. Mid-teens. Here will be a stat that matters in that game.

Garappalo: 9.25
Rodgers: 10.13

Kudos to you if you know what that represents.

Rams vs. Bucs - whew, this is going to be a great game. If Stafford stays turnover-free, Rams win. If not......it'll be the metro Tampa area.

Bills vs. Chiefs - the Chiefs struggle when someone smacks them in the mouth. The Bills can do that. Plus, I'm still skeptical of the Chiefs' D and Josh Allen is a real running threat, which adds another dimension. I like the Bills here.

Titans vs. Bengals - if D. Henry comes back from injury the way Cam Akers just did, Titans roll. If not, the Bengals sneak out a win.

Hand size, umm OK. It matters a lot, I get it. Packers win no matter who's hands are bigger. Then they lose next round, because that's what they do in the A-rod era, except for that one year. The other ten they lost.

Those are both impressive sizes, but not sure how that will affect the outcome.

Do you have Nick Foles number too?

9.25 is a small hand size for a QB. Alex "small hands" Smith's were 9.13. Small hands don't matter too much in warm weather, but cold weather? Yes, it matters.

Nick Foles had huge hands - 10.63. Anything over 10 inches are very large hands.

Man, you guys need to come up with another Rodgers put-down. That one is so old. Good luck to your team, though!

I'm not trolling. I am a HUGE A-Rod fan, just tired of the disappointment every year.

Also, does it matter in cold weather?

Joking aside, Aaron is obviously a very good QB in cold weather - but how do his cold weather stats actually compare to his non-cold weather stats? He’s a very good QB. Is he actually better or just the same QB?

How do QBs with “smaller hands” actually fare in cold weather compared to how they do in warm weather.

I think sometimes tropes just get repeated ad nauseam and we don’t look at all the stats to get comparative numbers. If it sounds good and logical we don’t look any deeper at the actual data.

It absolutely does. I wouldn't even know where to find his "cold weather" stats, though. I will, however, make a couple of relevant points about hand size.

1) The Packers have always drafted QB's with over 10-inch hands. Being able to grip a hard, slick ball in the frigid temperatures of Lambeau is very, very important. While a typical QB has a hand size of ~10, most of GB's high drafted QB's have been larger.

Favre (yes, I know he wasn't drafted by GB): 10.38
Rodgers: 10.13
Hundley: 10.50
Love: 10.50

2) There are two all-time greats at QB who stand <6 feet (and of which we know their hand size - for Flutie, Jurgensen, and Tarkenton, we have no record), Russell Wilson and Drew Brees.

Brees: 10.25-inch hands
Wilson: 10.25-inch hands

Both ridiculously large for someone their height.

Tom Brady's hand size is 9.38 inches while playing in Foxboro.

Poor Joe Burrow has tiny baby hands, 9 inches. Patrick Mahomes has a handicap sticker for his 9.25 inch hands.

Also of note:

Ingle Martin (06) - 9.5"
Brian Brohm (08) - 9.75"
Matt Flynn (08) - 9.25"
BJ Coleman (12) - 10.38"

Bengals over Titans- Dont want to discredit the Titans season, but I keep hearing the Bengals are a year early. When I hear that, that team normally ends up in the Super Bowl. Bengals can outscore every team in the playoffs this year and are hot at the right time.

Packers over 49ers- Going to be closer than anticipated but Rogers does just enough to get this team back into the NFC Championship. I would not sleep on SF +6 ATS though.

Rams over Bucs- Just not totally feeling it with the Bucs minus Godwin. Fournette another week to recover may help but I like Ramsay to lock down Evans and a straight double on Gronk. Means Johnson or Miller may have to win the game for the Bucs. Close game, and can never count out the GOAT but I like Rams in a close one.

Chiefs over Bills- Two very even teams, Bills D gets the nod on that side of the ball and I'm giving the Chiefs O a slight nod on that side of ball. I think the key piece here is post hype mega sleeper Jerrick McKinnon. Was he probably the product last week of a Steelers D that cant defend the RB position all year? Probably. However if he wasn't--and the Chiefs get the Swiss Army Knife at RB Like Damien Williams was a few years back.....that's not good for the rest of the league. Chiefs in a close one if McKinnon plays well. Bill's steal it late if not.

Almost as old as Packer fans consistent arguement of "how many rings do you have?" when they have nothing else to fall back on

I'm glad I could bring a little entertainment into the thread. Here's another little tidbit:

Jimmy Garappalo has never attempted a pass in an NFL game when the temp was below 40-degrees. 40-degrees!? - it'll be close to 10 by game time with possible windchills in the negatives. Oh, and he has a torn ligament in his throwing hand and went 5/11 for 39 yards and an INT after injuring his shoulder in the second quarter of the Dallas game. Go ahead and take those 5.5 points, I guess...

To me the GB/SF is the least up in the air. I don’t see SF having much of a chance and I Hate it - ha.

Nothing like busting out the hand size to start a thread.

Looking forward to see how (hand size aside) A A Ron competes in a playoff game. I REALLY want to see a Bay v Bay game.

Buffalo fans will travel well to KC - wont matter. Hopefully Andy will be calling the plays all game and wont give EB his 1 quarter of head scratchers.
