Default Any info on this Orioles World Series Hat?

Have had this hat for awhile (never worn) that was given to me by a family member. At the time, they said that they got it from a guy who had a bunch of Orioles stuff.

Obviously this hat is an error as the Orioles ended up losing in 1997. I cant find it on Ebay or Google.

Does anyone know anything about this, or am I rich?

Companies make these in anticipation of all possible outcomes so they can have the merchandise available immediately. Typically these get destroyed and donated. Cool hat though. Dem O’s were great in 1997. Had they won it all, Davey would already be in the Hall.

Yeah that’s what I’m gonna do. Started out high to see if I get anything and then will probably drop the price.

The O's did not even make it to the World Series in 1997, as they were knocked out by Cleveland in the AL Championship. So even more strange that this hat exists. Maybe they made hats for the last 4 teams in the playoffs...?

Right, it’s quite an odd item.

you need to watch more documentaries on tv.....

just a few nights ago was watching one about some people in a small african country and a kid was wearing a patriots super bowl xxxi champions shirt.

(in case you have to look it up, it is when the packers beat up on bledsoe)

these items, while rare in the us, these types of items are fairly "common" in small random countries.

Yeah it’s rare but these get out. I once had a Detroit Tigers 2006 World Series Champions shirt, and still have a 2012 St Louis Cardinals National League Champions shirt. Neither team won those.

"Phantom" hats, t-shirts, patches, and so on have existed for decades by now. Hard to find but they're out there. Phantom tickets are also a niche collectible. Some people think it's cool to get a ticket to a World Series Game 7 or something that was never played, for instance, especially if your team won it.

I've also seen them in the Dominican, like 10-15 years ago, haven't been back in a while. But it was like a surplus store, and they had all these pro teams that lost in the finals. They had it for Baseball, and Hockey from what I remember
