he says he paid $2700 not $850

Sorry I had to skim through it as I couldn’t take the droning on and on but what card was he talking about where the seller’s price was $900 and he countered with $850?

says the seller ended up wanting $3000 but would take $2700 so he paid for it. so many things with this story are red flags.

Here I thought it was going to be something like this:

At first I thought it was "A Collector's Worst Nightmare" because he used scissors to open the box instead of a box cutter.

I also skimmed through because there was nothing going on in the video.

Read the comments about the tape, didn't think it looked off at normal speed, but went back and watched at 0.25x speed and I also agree it looked odd - either the tape was cut or the shipper used extremely cheap/thin packing tape...which seems odd to me regardless of whether the card was $900 or $2700 like I read in the comments.

Awful clickbait attempt IMO

The youtuber is well spoken but spent the entire video providing a background story on the purchase and not really discussing the card itself. I've seen him comment on the baseball forums.

I would never pay someone for a card in the fashion described in the video. Especially if the seller reneges on the original price and then marks it up 3 fold.

I dont know who is scamming who, but it's odd behavior.

I feel the same way. I had to skim and eventually fast forwarded to the end. Hated listening to the guy talk - so long-winded.

If you’re referring to me, yea, I’m raking in that cash from the google adsense revenue of a channel that’s not mine.

If you don’t skim through it it’s one of the oddest card related videos you’ll ever see.

Really hard to say who's at fault.
Has the “seller” even been on the forum?

16 minutes to drop a Ted Talk while slowrolling a barely sealed priority flat rate? My kinda party.

So he somehow had a homie up near the seller....had him pay the seller on his behalf IP...but the seller kept the kard and shipped it himself?

Smells like teen spirit...or amateur hour usps claims fraud. I have no idea how he would even go about proving payment if it was done IP anyways.

At the very least, he's a prime target for Indian SSI phone scams. At worst, he's the actual Indian SSI phone scammer.

I like how he gives all the bubble mailers a final, thorough squeezin’ at the end. It’s almost like waiting for a magic trick to happen.

Nope! He's the scammer in this situation. People do the darnedest things

I can spot his type from a mile away, its not even funny. I bet there are plenty of people out there that believe him, or just pretend to believe him because they're "friends."

lol....at the 12:40 mark when he opens the cardboard and no card falls out...at that point he would know there is no card in it.

At first i thought this was a parody but he seemed to be defending this farce in the comments.

I agree with all above. No collector is waiting to open a package of something that they've been hoping for. Then make a video with the longest back story EVER, just to wait until the last second to show off a card that you can clearly see isn't there. When he was cutting open the last cardboard piece which was supposed to have the card in it- every collector would've known that there wasn't a card inside. He supposedly felt like it had a card in it???
