Can't wait to see a third year Zion card with repeat photos from 2019.

Remember people, this is bottom of the barrel paper RC's - if you are not first to market you aren't going to make much if your intentions are to "profit" from it all. I got lucky last year buying a hoops box and pulling a lamelo redemption that I sold the same day, that person is likely still waiting to get that card right now...

I won't be buying a box this year, hell I don't even know anything about these rookies yet.

FYI a base 2020 Hoops RC Lamelo # 223 PSA 10 is sub-$100 at auction. I looked for fun, an SGC 9.5 Lamelo #223 Green Explosion /89 sold for $290. It'll be fun to see how the new class of kids goes.

Nah…recent ones on eBay are back up in the $180 range. There were some that went in the $150s near Christmas, though.

$150? It was more like $400+. The first few sales of Lamelo's base rookie were in the $400-500 range when Hoops dropped last year. So one could argue (to some extent) that the $1000 price point for hobby was justified.

But since last April, the singles market has obviously declined significantly and yet Panini & their distributors are still trying to keep wax prices artificially high, with the help of the breakers they cater to. Peddling low-end junk as new "mid-end". Makes no sense when a big hit or even case hit of a top rookie doesn't even cover the cost of a box

75th Anniversary parallels have a nice shine to them. Look better on the Cherry breaks I've been watching in comparison to the shite look on sell sheets.

I've got 5 cases of Donruss on pre-order so I honestly can't even look at Hoops but I hope it does well, though not sure I like them releasing a week apart. Two similar products. They should be at least a month apart. But I guess with all the delays they gotta get moving on stuff.

Yep the foil finish is a nice touch to them. So far upon brief watching of breaks, the photography used on this set is better than I expected, all base cards I've seen have good photo selections. The inserts for the most part are absolute meh and pass for me though.

I just saw Panini re-used the Lebron One and One photo for a hoops insert...

I watched a few box openings earlier today. It looks a perfectly fine entry level release if it was priced at $60 to $70 as it was a few years ago would be a nice little rip; but $200 is clearly still way too high. Hey, maybe one day it will get back to those levels.

It is a shame they were not able to repeat the SLAM insert of 2020-21; which was undoubtedly the highlight of last years product. On the other hand, maybe leaving it as a 'one and done' insert is a good thing.

Slam might still be around, I have not seen a checklist out yet. Buzz only shows hobby stuff, Slam was retail only last year

The Foil High Voltage look nice. A Lemelo is on ebay now. Too high priced - it'll come down, but still looks like a nice little insert set.

Zero Gravity is the best it's ever looked, and one of the better common inserts I've seen from Panini. Yes, it's ruined with parallels.

I paid a little under market price, $5800/case. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped a little though at release. I was comfortable with it because I paid 10k last year with no Next Days and still did very well. The early Net Marvels sales are always stupid and we still don't know if they will return with rookies in that after taking a year off. But I love that Next Day is back. I think it's a safe buy-in with Net Marvels. I wouldn't touch above 2K without them though, so that shows how one insert set can literally make the entire product.
