Topps Overtime Elite Basketball Prospects

Is anyone speculating on the Topps Overtime Elite basketball cards?

I like the design. I like the potential.

The league isn't well publicized, and I don't even know if there is an official season or if win/loss records culminate to any "standings", nor are there season to date states when I try to Google search status updates. It feels like a traveling pick-up game of match-ups.

All it takes is 1 player to become the GOAT of their playing era I guess. There's so many hyped up names, most touted as mid-1st round or 2nd round draft picks at best, no consensus #1 overall or Lottery Top 10 picks from what I hear.

I think the base set has 27 players, some so young, we won't see 'em in the draft for 2-3 years.

Topps now has their Bowman's Next basketball prospect release too, and I Google search the scouting reports, none seem highly anticipated with fanfare 'tho.

Kid already has over 5 million followers on social. I picked up one of his topps autos just in case he pans out.

I got him to sign a basketball when he was 13. When he was here recently his handler said he would sign for $300

Having read a lot of OTE reports and watched a bunch of footage, Jean Montero is the best of the bunch right now. Obviously, the other kids are still developing and there's some big potential (Thompson twins, Bewley twins), but for the 2022 draft, Jean should be a lottery pick. He needs to get his 3pt % up, but he looks NBA-ready to me. He is on the smaller side, but so is someone like Darius Garland. If a team needs a true PG, he certainly fits that role.
