I dont think you can really compare Ford to Portman. Ford was in the OT and played an iconic character in Han. His character is enduring, similar Leia. Portman was in the crummy prequels. Many fans wanted to forget the prequel trilogy.
There are star wars trading card collectors who are completionists and will want every actor's autograph card. But I dont see this as a good investment. |

Well she almost always refused to sign Star Wars stuff in the past, but obviously she has signed a ton with her books, the send in etc. question is if she signs again now. Once they break the seal, they tend to sign because it’s easy money but I dunno. Jackson signs periodically every couple years. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a big sign in sponson again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You’re highly unaware of a huge surge of prequel love online from memes and kids when they came out who are adults now. Portman was a bucket list signer for many and a major (top 3) player in the prequels. Now that said as an investment? Probably not considering it’s her first name only and poor card design. Then again if she never signs Topps again look at like Frank Oz who is over $1k now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The dialogue was bad and lots of the movie looked like a bad video game But I loved the prequels since the beginning.. the last prequel movie ? can’t even think of name …. That’s one of my favorite Star Wars movies .. The characters we got were amazing imo Portman is also A list actor like Ford.. which adds value With her stardom and rarity. These prices are not coming down that much If the book autos are so inexpensive. Buying one of those seems like a plan B |

I concur.. A-list actress...
Corny dialogue not her fault... Big get for the prequels back in 1999... Never signed for Star Wars... That being said, I question the picture used for her first signature card. I think a better picture and a full name signature on the card could have made the price on the open market even higher!

Some of the higher sales yesterday and today on ebay:
two portmans went for $3200 each a sealed case went for $12k Rosario as Ahsoka go for $900-$1050 two quads went for $400 each so that seems to be the going rate (and they are hard signed!?) 1/1 taika went for $1k 1/1 Kelleyman went for $350 A set of reproductions went for $750 (though that seller had two available) That's the most notable stuff. Two portmans at auction with plenty of time left (6d & 8d) are already $2k+ and a third one ends in 4 hours at 2400 https://www.ebay.com/itm/23434921731...cAAOSwUc1hxPOV So those $3,200 BIN/BO sales don't seem to be outside the realm of reality. |

Are the Bakers really fakes?

In my opinion, the Bakers dont match up, if you look at an Evolution Baker auto card to a Stellar Baker auto card...

![]() ![]() The one consideration is that one is on a cramped sticker with a thicker pen. I don't really see anything worrisome between these. But here they are for people to decide. |

The Y and B are distinctly different Theory is last sticker sheets were secretarial or family signed which is why they’re close, but not his. Steve Grad commented they’re fake in the SW groups but publicly won’t comment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is a late 90's or early 00's example, obtained via the Star Wars fan club and has been PSA authenticated, on an 8x10. I can't speak one way or another on the sticker autos in question but I sure wouldn't pick one up if I wanted a Baker autograph when there's plenty of other, earlier, options with far less doubt about authenticity.

Yeah, looking at the progression of those, over the years, those newer ones don't seem legit to me. Your signature doesn't get MORE fluid when you struggle to write.

There is clear variation of letter formation in these stickers...
In my opinion, the Stellar stickers do not match up... |

I wouldn't put it past topps to risk their reputation on this but it's a $100 autograph. Why even insert it if there's doubt? |

Even if they aren't recent, there's way too many red flags on letter formation, spacing, the tails that start the K and B, tail on the y, etc.

There were a lot children who watched the prequels and a certain percentage of them became obsessed with it. But there were way more obsessed fans of the original trilogy. The original Star Wars films were a cultural event. As a teenager, I remember babysitting a young boy who happened to resemble the actor who played young Anakin -- he had similar blonde hair and a bowl cut. I rented the Phantom of the Menace for him one night, maybe a year after the film's initial release. The boy was disinterested and bored while watching the movie. He told me afterwards that he thought it sucked. Presumably he was the target demographic for the film and he couldn't care less about it. Mind you, I lived in the same area the prequels were made and used to live up the road from George Lucas. I remember going to theaters to see the rerelease of the original trilogy films -- the theaters were packed with kids and there was a lot of excitement and energy. |

Maybe you wanted her in the queen outfit, with heavy makeup and attire resembling traditional japanese female nobility. |

Ford base auction ended at 1775, Portman at 4k. There's a Clarke /10 at almost 2k with an hour to go.
