A ton of hanger boxes have hit ebay at all sorts of price points

New $21.98 retail price makes sense since these were $15 before. I'm guessing cellos will be increased to $15 now too.

Walmart had been changing and raising prices for a while now. I think I remember 19-20 Prizm hangers were $17-18 And cellos were $11, before tax.

I never caught any Mosaic retail so Not sure if those prices were similar.

They really watered down the specialty aspect of the One and One timeless moments set by using the same shots in the bang inserts in releases two weeks apart.

Mosaic was a big deal last year. It was the big chrome release when the pandemic hit last year. The value isn't there anymore.

I like this set a lot. But not worth buying on the secondary market.

Looks like mosaic has appeared in rural Colorado between Denver and Colorado Springs. My wife was picking up a last minute gift and checked for me.

Optic is really average. Prizm retail was a little better. Mosaic is a nicer product overall with better parallels.

Vast majority of people buying could care less what is deemed a "nicer" product with "better parallels". If they cared about the look, why is Hoops Premium worth a fraction of regular Hoops? Look at what Flux is selling for right now. You can get a hobby box for $250 and that set has some of the best looking cards of the year. Yet a garbage product like Origins sells for more per box. In the long run anyone betting Mosaic will be worth more than Prizm and Optic is not gonna be happy.

This disparity between hoops and hoops premium mystifies me. I’d be curious if anyone has a good theory for the reason.

As far as how well singles sell? Panini produced a crap ton of it..to the point that people are STILL finding it being stocked to this day at Meijer.

the hype train was moved off 2019 by the time hoops premium came out....people had been blasted with chronicles and illusions by that point

People were falling over themselves for HP. The problem is that it’s just another mass produced chromium set. There’s only so much room for those kinds of cards.

Panini doesn’t care because they’re in this for the short term. But the hobby would be so much better if the card companies put more effort into developing other kinds of sets. Even when they try, they get it wrong. And acetate set was a great idea. But instead of creating something new, they regurgitate Donruss. Such a waste.

Wonder why the most difficult to produce, unique, creative, innovative base set in EX-2001 still hasn't been topped in over 25 years. Cuz Poopini sucks

Same for 19-20 Mosaic. Hangers were close to the $20 blaster price. I don't know about MJ's logic behind that but at the time, blasters were assumed to be worse rips than hangers. All that's changed.
