That speck of white is not present on my PSA 9. Probably some sort of edge damage from the cutting process.

Here's my Ultra PSA 9. I dont see a white spec either but it's sitting low in the holder. I'll check the card later tonight.

The surface (ticket portion around the helmet) looks to have a lot of printing defects as well, which would bring it to a 7 most likely with those dots. You do not see too many clean surfaces on this card.

Thanks everyone- I’ve been looking around more and found many more copies with marks in the same spot. It must have been in the cutting process like was mentioned earlier, funny how that happens

Here's my raw copy that I pulled 5 years ago. Can confirm it has spots.

Lesson learned - old wax is a gamble. The gold medallions stick to the base cards the worst and it just so happened that's where my Brady ended up.

I guess I'm just not seeing it. Are you sure there's a print crease there? Looks like a simple rough edge to me. I do see the slight streaking on the "T" in the sig so I'm guessing that's why it's a 9 for the auto. Perhaps it's just a combination of the surface issues, rough edges, and rounded corners (more evident from the back) that's resulting in the 5? Here's a 2000 Championship Ticket #092/100 Curtis Keaton (PSA 5) with the same type of flaw (printer's line/crease along the top edge).

Gotta say, if you're wanting to just have an extremely high end card in your collection, that's a "defect" I could live with to save 6 figures. Card is in its original, packed out condition and you need a freaking 10x magnification to see what the problem is. Like mentioned above, best looking "5", ever.

Interesting. I have a bunch of Champ Tix of various players. I’ll look over them when I have time tonight to see if any of them have this defect. I know PSA will overlook refractor lines as defects in the paper, but this appears to be a manufacturing defect which would count.

Agree. If the "5" bothers you that much, buy it at a discount and slab it as authentic. Card looks pretty good to me and you'd be getting a massive piece of football card history in return. That card is going to be the new age Mantle of our generation.

OK. Looked through all my Champ Tix. None of them have this defect unless it's so difficult to see I need a loupe, in which I think PSA is just nitpicking at that point. Whoever wins this card is gonna get a great deal. Beautiful eye appeal.

On a separate note, looking at these cards again, I'm reminded of how beautiful these cards are. Great design, sharp action photos, informative backs. The gold really stands out.

In other PWCC news, the PSA 10 Prizm Silver did $34k. Highest ever for this card and goes to show that his non rookie stuff is almost neck and neck with LeBron.
